Biography: Taela was born into a large family of seven children as a twin. She grew up, having a fairly normal life. Her parents were very kind, and even though they sometimes fought, her siblings and she all got along. When she was 17, her house was burned down by a heartbroken neighbor. She was grief stricken for the rest of life, comforted only by her twin brother, Tweverel.

Fighting style: Left-handed - Being the Medical Commander, Taela doesn't do a lot of fighting and avoids it as often as she can. However, when she does, she does a lot of hit-and-run, and unless she has to, hardly ever fights mono-e-mono with another person. If she does, she utilizes nearly everything near her to get them away.

Techniques:
* Shield Toss - Onesto is attached to a device on Taela's left wrist, which allows her to throw it, and it returns to her. She can use this either for combat or boarding ships. The string is nigh unbreakable/cutable and, with Taela's strength, can reach up to 500 feet.
* Light Absorbtion - One of Onesto's special abilities is that it can absorb and focus light. Taela merely has to have Onesto out, on her wrist and in direct sunlight, for it to begin absorbing light. It can absorb limitless amounts of light, given limitless amounts of time. Taela can release it in several ways: one) she can let it out in a huge blast, completely blowing them away, like a shotgun, two) she can let out a thin but concentrated beam of light, giving the light laser-like properties, allowing her to cut things instantly. She can also use it to give off a large, unharmful light, used for temporary blindness and signaling. She can dull down her laser light to aim for long ranged targets before firing.

This is all done through a pair of 'shift sticks' inside the shield. The shift on the right side of Taela's wrist controls the power of the laser by simply releasing only a small amount of light and keeping the rest stored. The other shift, on the left side, controls the 'lens', which has two basic settings: leave a small hole, increasing power of the laser, while using less light, but losing area of effect and leave a large hole, increasing area of effect, but it requires a lot more light, and therefore, uses a lot more. There is room for her to fine tune these settings.
