xxxGrace leaned into Gavin slightly as he wrapped his arm around her, thankful that he was both there and that he didn’t seem like he was going to push ‘the topic’ today with Gavin at least. As far as Grace was concerned, just telling Elliot was enough of a step to take for her today and she didn’t want to take another leap. Gavin was slightly puzzled at Elliot’s behavior at first, not understanding why he seemed to be slightly more distant than usual, and Grace’s attitude was still a little off for her. Have they talked about the party then? he though as a realization suddenly lit his eyes for a moment and he looked at Grace, a slight frown almost –almost—appeared on his lips, before he laughed instead at what Elliot had said, though it sounded a little fake. ”Might want to keep a fire extingusisher close just in case. Better watch he doesn’t burn the food Grace,” he said with another laugh as he looked at them both. ”Hey, no problem. I gotta get home anyway. See you guys around later,” he said to them both before he went to the checkout counter to pay for the stuff that he’d collected.

Once he had left, Grace went back to looking at the shelves for what she needed for supper. It wasn't much that she needed, just a box of pasta, sauce, and some breadsticks. She had the rest of the stuff at the house that she needed. When she saw Gavin exit the store and was assured that he wouldn't over hear at all, she turned to Elliot and smiled slighty at him. "Thank you, Elliot," she said to him, letting him know that she was thankful for him not pressing the issue with Gavin yet, standing on her toes to give him a little kiss on the cheek and squeezed his hand lightly before she grabbed the last item of the shelf and nodded to herself, thinking that she'd gotten everything. "Was there anything else that you wanted to get? she asked him, glancing in his direction. "An umbrella perhaps?" she teased, trying to lighten the mood a little from the tense moment that Gavin had brought.

Elliot smirked at Gavin's reaction to his statement. "Yeah, I'll make sure I have two." He smiled and turned to Grace. "I promise I won't burn the food," he told her. He then looked back at Gavin and gave him a nod. "See ya." Elliot watched his best friend walk away before releasing Grace to do her shopping. He walked behind her, still taking his time browsing the shelves. When Grace spoke to him, Elliot smiled. "You're welcome," he told her, closing his eyes as she kissed him on the cheek. "I was thinking about grabbing a snack... and possibly an umbrella." He stuck his tongue out at Grace before wandering off to grab a bag of Doritos and a cheap umbrella. "Happy?" he asked when he met up with Grace again.

xxxGrace turned and smiled at him once Gavin had left. "Yeah, you better not burn the food. That is my job and I refuse to let you take it from me" she said with a laugh, poking her tongue out at him for a second. She nodded and then waited where she was at while he went off to get a snack. She leaned up against the end of the aisle and pulled out her cell phone, flipping through various text messages that she'd recieved today and yesterday from her friends.

Grace looked up from her phone when she heard Elliot's voice and saw the umbrella that he held in his hand a grin slowly spreading across her face. "Yep, couldn't be happier," she said to him as she took his hand and led him to the checkout stands and paid for the stuff they'd gotten. She walked to the doors and glanced outside before looking back at him. "Alright Mister Umbrella Man, open that thing up so we don't get soaked. . . again," she said with a little laugh as she waited on him.

Elliot smirked at Grace's comment. "In your house maybe, but I'm the king of burnt food back home." He walked away to get his snack and umbrella and quickly returned. "Well, I'm glad," he said. He set his stuff down behind Grace's things, but the cashier rang up their things together and Grace paid for everything. "I'll pay you back," Elliot said, kissing her on the cheek before picking up the bags. He followed her outside and smirked again. "Yes ma'am," he said, digging through the bags to find the umbrella. He unwrapped it and opened it away from Grace. Holding it above her, Elliot walked over to his car and opened her door first. After she got in, he put the groceries in the backseat before sliding into the driver's seat. "Aaand we're off." Elliot started up the car and turned on the heat. Pulling out of the parking lot, he took Grace's hand and drove back to her house.

xxxGrace laughed and rolled her eyes at what he said, but let him go so that he could get his stuff and then they paid for it all. "It's just a bag of doritos and umbrella. . . that I practically convinced you to buy, so, I think we're good. You don't have to pay me back for that," she said to him, smiling when she felt him kiss her cheek as he gathered up the bags. She watched as he got the umbrella out of the bag and then walked with him out to the car and got in. She smiled when he took her hand and she laced her fingers through his as they started driving back to her house.

Grace was silent for most of the trip, thinking mostly. The thoughts that were running through her head slowly started to make a frown appear on her lips. Once she noticed that, however, she quickly smoothed out her expression and lightly squeezed Elliot's hand and gave him a smile. When they arrived at her house, she saw that the rain had slowed down to a very light drizzle for now, so she went ahead and got out of the car without the protection of an umbrella. She grabbed a couple bags and walked into the house, leaving the door open behind her for Elliot as she went to the kitchen an put the food on the counter. "Between the two of us, do you think that we just might make a diiner worth eating. . or will it combine our terrible abilities and turn out to be something that not even the dog would eat?" she said, laughing when her dog suddenly decided to bark at that.

Elliot glanced at Grace every one and a while to make sure she was alright. She was unusually quiet, but he could tell that she was just thinking, so he let her be. When they reached her house, Elliot reached for the umbrella, but Grace just got out. He looked out the window and realized that the rain was not that hard anymore so he just left the umbrella in his car. He grabbed the rest of the groceries and followed Grace inside and into the kitchen. "I'm sure we can manage," Elliot said, smiling as he emptied the bag. "I mean, we're not that bad... Are we? I'm pretty sure we've managed to whip up some semi-decent dishes in the past." He chuckled and looked over at Grace's dog. "Am I right?"

xxxGrace smiled at him and watched Ace give another playful bark before he simply left the room at that statement in search of something else to do. "We made some awesome chcolate milkshakes once, but then again, how hard is it to screw that up?" Grace said with a laugh as she started putting together the meal; boiling the noodles and making up the sauce. She came and sat down on one of the stools at the counter as she waited on the noodles to finsh for the next step in making the lasagna.

Grace glanced over at Elliot for a moment, the same thoughtful expression on her face as the one that she had in the car. A few moments later, she decided to speak. I'm really trying not to push the sore topic too much, but it's always on my mind. I can't help it," she started, looking at him. "But when I tell Gavin about all this, can you please come with me? I'm not sure when I should let him know, but I don't really want to be by myself," she said to him before she frowned slightly. "Though, honestly, Gavin seemed to be acting a little weird when we saw him, but maybe I was just imagining it," she said with a small shrug though she didn't completely think she was just imagining it.

Elliot watched Ace walk away and chuckled. He then turned to Grace and took a seat on one of the bar stools. "Those were delicious... but I'm fairly certain there are people out there more food-challenged than we are who can screw them up." He smiled and watched Grace move around the kitchen. When she sat down beside him, Elliot looked at her curiously. "What's up?" he asked, taking one of her hands. He listened to her speak, frowning ever-so-slightly when she mentioned Gavin. "Of course," he said, taking her other hand as well. "I wouldn't make you do that alone. I can't even imagine what it must have taken to talk to me about it on your own... And yeah, he did seem a little off... We were, too... Do you think... maybe... he already knows...?"

xxxGrace laughed at that and shrugged her shoulders, knowing that he was probably right even if she hadn't readily known anyone that was worse than them. But, she was determined to make this meal a good one. Both for her parents sake of having to eat whatever she created and her own. Plus, she figured Elliot might want to stay over for dinner at least and she didn't want him to have to eat a bad meal either. Grace on the other hand was used to eating all sorts of different food in varying degrees of 'good' as she referred to her sometimes strange creations.

Grace relaxed slightly when Elliot took her hands and one corner of her lips lifted into a small smile for a second before she let it fall and listened to what he was saying. "Thank you, Elliot," she said to him, leaning forward to rest her head against his shoulder for a moment. However, when she heard what he said next, she jerked away really quick and looked at him with surprise in her eyes and, maybe, a little bit of panic. "We were a little off," she admitted slowly, lines creasing her forehead as she thought about Gavin. "But knows about what? That I told you he and I . . .uh, slept together," she said wincing slightly as she said the words. "Or that he knows I'm pregnant? Surely he couldn't know that one," she said, shaking her head slowly. Or at least he didn't think he could, maybe he did suspect it? After all, there had been no protection involved, maybe the thought of her getting pregnant had been running though his mind the whole time, while it had somehow not went through Grace's at the beginning. It was strange openly admitting she was pregnant. It was really the first time she'd spoken it aloud since telling Elliot earlier and she had other things on her mind at the time. Saying it aloud made it real and her stomach twisted slightly in fear of treading that unknown territory when she was still so young. I have help though. . . I have Elliot, she thought to herself. The thought calming her nerves and helping her relax slightly.

Elliot smiled and leaned on the counter, happy to hear Grace laugh. He always thought she had a cute laugh, but whenever he told her that she would object. "You're welcome," he said, letting go of one of her hands to run his fingers through her hair. When she pulled away, he took a hold of her hand again. "I... I don't know..." he said softly. "It just seemed as though he knows... something... But... doesn't that take off a little pressure? I mean, if he knows part of what you're going to tell him then it won't come as so much of a shock and we won't have to deal with that much of a dramatic reaction... Maybe..." Elliot smirked and shook his head. "I honestly don't know what I'm saying right now... I just keep opening my mouth and only nonsense comes out..."

xxxGrace pondered what he said for a moment, her blue eyes glancing down at their hands together before they met Elliot's eyes. "Yeah, I guess it might take a bit of the pressure off. It'd be kinda nice if that were to happen," she admitted with a small smile, drawing comfort from that one small thought even if that might not be the case. Grace got up from her seat and sat lightly on Elliots lap as she wrapped her arms loosely around his neck and laughed a little. "And there's no nonsense coming out of your mouth right now. It's helpful," she said, tilting her head to the side with an amused expression for a moment. "Of course, I'm used to you and your nonsense, too, so maybe I'm immune to it," she joked with another laugh, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. Hearing something start to bubble over on the stove, she jumped quickly from his lap to turn down the boiling noodles. "Well, they're done at least!" she said with a smile, choosing to ignore the fact that the water had boiled over. "Here, come help me with the lasagna. . . did you want to stay for dinner by the way?" she asked, glancing over at him for a second before getting a pan from the cabinet.

Elliot moved his hands and wrapped his arms around Grace's tiny waist. "If you say so," he said, smiling as he rested his head on her shoulder. When she suggested that she was immune to his nonsense, he could not help but chuckle. "That very well could be true. After all, when am I not acting like a weirdo?" Elliot heard the bubbling as well and was quick to move his head and arms so Grace could rush to the stove. Elliot followed her and looked down into the pot at the noodles. "Sure, I can stay. I just have to tell the girls that they need to fend for themselves tonight. Sam should have the money for pizza and I can always just pay her back." He reached into his pocket for his phone and sent a quick text to his sister.

She smiled when he said that he could stay, though felt a little bad that his sisters were now going to have order pizza instead but she supposed it wouldn't do much harm. "Well, good. Now I have someone to peg the blame on if this turns out badly," she teased, bumping his arm softly with her elbow silent then until he finished his text to Sam. "If they want you back at your house, you can go if you want. Wouldn't want them to eat pizza and be bored if you all usually do something," she said to him with a small smile as she drained the noodles and then started laying them in a pan, mixing it with the sauce and cheese.

Elliot smiled when Grace said his weirdness was why she loved him. Never before had he met a girl that did not get tired of it. Excluding Grace and his sisters, most girls that he knew either said it was getting old or told him he was trying too hard. Elliot just shrugged them off. After all, that was how he naturally was. His dad was the same way and his personality just passed down to Elliot and Jamie. Sam on the other hand... she was a different story. Elliot liked to joke around and tell her that she was adopted because she was so serious all the time. However, their mom was a lawyer so that could be a possible explanation.

"That isn't fair," Elliot said, standing behind Grace and slipping his arms around her waist. "I'm not even doing anything right now." He rested his chin on her shoulder and kissed her on the cheek. "Nah, it's alright. Sam and Jamie can handle themselves..." Elliot's phone went off in his pocket and he pulled it out to read the message from Sam. "See? Sam said they already planned on ordering Chinese and watching Twilight..." Elliot shuddered as he put his phone back. "I will never understand their fascination with that movie..."
