Wood Nymphs Profile Skeleton

Basic Information

Wood Nymphs are small and beautiful, but able to speak and to sing, and they are apparently happy to interact with wizards and indeed do as they are told. According to Fleur Delacour, they are used amongst the Christmas decorations at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, where they sing to the students.

Bowtruckle

The Bowtruckle is immensely difficult to spot, being a hand-sized, insect eating, tree dweller with long sharp fingers (two on each hand), brown eyes, and a general appearance of a flat-faced little stickman made of bark and twigs, which serves well as camouflage in its natural habitat.

A Bowtruckle serves as a tree guardian for its home tree, which is usually a tree whose wood makes wands (such as Wiggentree). The twig-like fingers are well adapted for digging out wood lice in trees, and can also be used as a weapon against a foe when aimed at the eyes. It is generally a peaceful creature, but will become violent if anything threatens its tree, or even to itself.

Clabbert

A Clabbert is an arboreal creature that resembles a cross between a monkey and a frog. Its smooth skin is mottled green, and it has short horns and a wide grinning mouth full of razor sharp teeth. Its long arms and webbed hands and feet allow it to move gracefully through the trees. On the Clabbert's forehead is a large pustule which flashes red when the Clabbert senses danger. It feeds on small lizards and birds.

+ Lives in trees for the most part

Erkling

Erklings are elfish creatures, three feet tall on average (making them larger than gnomes) with pointed faces, which have a particular affinity for the taste of children. Their high pitch cackles are particularly entrancing to children, and they use this to lure them away from their guardians to eat them. These creatures also enjoy shooting darts at unsuspecting victims. Originating from the Black Forest in Germany, the difference between this creature and many others is that they can speak Human-language.

Erkling Rules

+ Has a high-pitched cackle
+ Can shoot darts
+ Can harm another, with their permission first
+ Number of attacks should be limited

Red Cap

The Red Cap is a small dwarf-like creature that lives in holes underground. they throw stink pellets, some have a shield and a sword, They are found on the sites of old battlefields, or wherever blood has been spilt. The Red Cap is extremely dangerous to lone Muggles and will attempt to bludgeon them at any opportunity. Wizards can easily repel Red Caps with charms and hexes. They are mostly found in Northern Europe. They are usually three to four feet tall and they have red eyes and long sharp nails. They can be found in the grounds of Dumstrang Institute grounds, _________ and ____________

Red Cap Rules

+ Must be on the Durmstrang grounds
+ Must retreat if hexed or charmed away
+ Lives underground
+ Aggressive to other characters
+ Can have a sword, shield, or stink pellets, but must not do much damage with these things without the consent of the other party

Generic Fae Profile Skeleton

List of Creatures, Summary, and Rules

Doxy

The Doxy, sometimes referred to as the Biting Fairy, is a small Fairy-like creature, sometimes mistaken for a Fairy.

The Doxy is covered in coarse black hair, and has an additional set of arms and legs. Doxies have shiny beetle-like wings, and a double row of sharp venomous teeth. If bitten, a wizard or witch should take an antidote immediately. Doxies bury their eggs underground, and can lay up to five hundred at once. The eggs generally hatch in two to three weeks.

Doxies are considered pests. They can infest houses, taking up residence in the draperies.

Doxy Rules

+ Must be in the Forest
+ Will try to bite characters, with consent
+ Their speech can only be understood by other Doxies and Fae

Imp

Found only in Britain and Ireland, the Imp is a magical creature often confused with the Pixie. They are of similar height, between six to eight inches, but that is where the physical similarities end. The Imp cannot fly like the Pixie, nor is it as brightly coloured.

Imps make their home in marshland, where they indulge their slapstick sense of humour by pushing and tripping the unwary. The Imp's diet consists mainly of insects. Imp breeding habits are like the Pixie's, but their young hatch full formed.

Imp Rules

+ Must be in the Forest, near a marshland
+ Cannot fly
+ Can trip other characters, with consent
+ Their speech can only be understood by other Imps and Fae

Pixie

A Pixie is a small, bright blue mischief-maker, and loves tricks and practical jokes. It is able to fly, and enjoys lifting people up by their ears and depositing them on the tops of trees and buildings, showing incredible strength for creatures of their size. Their voices are described as "so shrill it was like listening to a lot of arguing budgies". They bear live young.

Pixie Rules

+ Must be in the Forest
+ Can do pranks on characters, with their permission first
+ Their speech can only be understood by other Pixies and Fae

Sprite

A Sprite can be one of two types: a Water Sprite or a Wildflower Sprite. A Wildflower Sprite was presumably a type of sprite which had its natural habitat among wildflowers. A Water Sprite is a water monster that resides in large bodies of fresh water, such as lakes.

Water Sprite Rules

+ Must be in one of the "the Lakes"
+ Must not pull witches and wizards into "the Lakes"
+ Aggressive to witches and wizards
+ Their speech can only be understood to other underwater creatures, and is squeaky and incomprehensible above water

Wildflower Sprite Rules

+ Must be found in the Forest and surrounding areas
+ Harmless to other characters
+ Like flowers
+ Their speech can only be understood by other Pixies and Fae
