I want more on this discussion.
I'm done with my summer job now, so I should have more time for this.

Yeata Zi I want more on this discussion. I'm done with my summer job now, so I should have more time for this. Except I will probably be lurking. Your time is freeing up and mine is closing down.

I'd love an in-Guild event, and a joint one as well. I'm always up for collaboration.
Though I've been getting massively busy; don't expect much out of me but I am with this idea 100%.

Ok, how about reorganizing the sections and appointing new section leaders? Maybe combining some of the sections since there aren't too many of us anymore. We also need to recruit, but before we can do that, we need to clarify our purpose. Just what are we for, in these days of so little mystery? Protecting Gaia, sure, but from what and how? Back in the days of the Zurg, we were able to make a difference. We really could protect Gaia from outside threats. Today? Not so much...
Maybe this Halloween event will give us some opportunities to grow and figure out just who we are in this new, modern Gaia. Clearly the plot is no help at all. There's just nothing to discover, no one to interact with as either ally or enemy. We've got to find something else to do unless we're content with the way things are. In the end, there may be nothing we CAN do, but who knows?

In the end, there may be nothing we CAN do, but who knows? Maybe we need to retool our mission a bit. Our focus was always very narrow: Most of Gaia's threats occur on its' home soil, rather than off-world, and can be covered under the blanket definition of the supernatural. This doesn't mean that it couldn't be MIB or GIB territory though. Remember "The X-Files"? It was basically Supernatural + Government Agents and minus the Ho-Yay. More RPs would be awesome, yeah, but If we wanted to translate this into real life effects, we could help to publically archive Gaia's events, explore and document secret areas in games like ZOMG, and offer our services as helpers by posting walkthroughs, scam alerts, etc. And of course, we could always help with things like the user run ball, and Halloween threads, since that's when things tend to get epic. Gaia has started to bring back the interactive plots, yeah, (I thought the ghosts were awesome, myself) but I don't think we ever had as much of a say in them as most of us thought. Guilty or Not Guilty, the end result would still have been Ian getting shot, I can almost guarantee you that. It is nice, however, that they gave us a shout-out, and they might give us one again when the Zurg return. But we can't focus on the Zurg forever. Gaia staff didn't focus on us forever, and we really shouldn't have expected them to At max, the Zurg may only appear once more, three times in total if we're especially lucky. But the thing about Gaia is that we can always count on something weirder taking it's place.

But the thing about Gaia is that we can always count on something weirder taking it's place. Well, in the specific case of the Zurg, Gaians did make a difference in the way the plot went. The end result of the Zurg leaving Gaia may have been the same, but with things like the peace treaty and the way we handled Flarn turning emo evil, I think we made things rather difficult for the people running that event. xd They wanted the GiB to be antagonists, after all. But anyway, you're right that there are other things we can do to make ourselves relevant.

But the thing about Gaia is that we can always count on something weirder taking it's place. I like these ideas... sending people to do in-depth documentation on games and making them easily accessible would be a fun task for agents who may not be quite as RP savvy but who would still like to feel important. The section idea is a good idea too, since I never really got the whole section thing in the first place and having them revamped right now would put me at the cutting edge of understanding. (I'd also be at a better vantage point to figure out which section I actually belong in instead of posting everywhere there's activity. ^_^) I don't think I know enough about making events interesting to be a part of the people in charge of such things, but I'd definitely be interested in guild events and RP, since I love RP. :3 I'd even be interested in hosting/co-hosting an RP (if I thought people would actually post in it.) All in all, we definitely need to do something to make the guild members feel like they are important even if Gaia doesn't want to pay any attention to us anymore. smile
