Outdated news, I know, but I was creeping on GameFAQs and came across the entry of Dragon Quest X and right now, it's tentative, but Horii said in May's issue of Nintendo Power that he is planning on having it out at the end of this year.

While I am undoubtedly excited for this, let's hope it stays true to its roots like usual and doesn't turn into a 2D side scroller or a ARPG or anything. Random encounters, Horii, Toriyama and Sugiyama plzkthx. -crosses fingers-

Anyway, what are your hopes for DQX?

I kind of was hoping it wouldn't be, mainly because I am not planning on getting a Wii U in the future, but nonetheless, if it is, that'll be another big gaping hole in my wallet. =_=

Main thing concerning the main series I was hoping for, was a remake of DWVII for 3DS.

I'm very excited about this as well. I've been waiting for X ever since IX came out and...if it comes out for the Wii U....Let's just say I won't be pleased. =D

The game is coming out for both the Wii and Wii U in Japan. There's no question the game will do well in Japan. Dragon Quest is crazy popular over there. If the original arcade version of Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road was successful enough to have a sequel arcade machine and a home version released, I have no doubt that DQX will do well.

Though last I checked, a US release hadn't been confirmed. I remember hearing that while Square Enix itself was iffy on bringing it to the states, Nintendo wanted to bring it over. I need to check and see if my facts are still up to date.
