Make your favorite team from each region.
Kanto Pokemon only in Kanto.
Johto Pokemon only in Johto.
And so on for Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova.
Kanto- First Gen (Red, Green, FR, LG)
Johto- Second Gen (Gold, Silver, Crystal, HG, SS)
Hoenn- Third Gen (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald)
Sinnoh- Fourth Gen (Diamon, Pearl, Platinum)
Unova- Fifth Gen (White, Black)
It can be for coolness, stats, pure favorite, or all of the above!
Just make sure you label what one is what and why you chose what you did.
Also, for a little extra bonus, post your favorite attacks for each Pokemon.

I think pokemon went pretty downhill after Johto (with the exception of a rare few pokemon). My ideal team is usually this (my current team in Black version):
