Pound-a-Pint ruffled slightly as all heck broke out in the background with the unmistakeable tone of angry-mother. That really put the fear into any pidge, He could even hear his own mother's voice in that pidge back there, whoever she was, she was a true force of nature.
Getting back on task he was impressed by how cool and in control the pied witch was, she assessed the situation with a level head and had managed to disperse some of the crowd a little further away.
"What do I think?.. Um well,no this isnt a predator, shes not really been mutilated or eaten at all, its just a clear strike whatever did this. From up here on a lamppost ......its probably got wings."
He looked around the body again, the injury wasn't in her back so either saw her attacker or was turning.
It was at this moment a witch from Ma's flock turned up, Claude had let her through to the scene, another witch would be a help.
Pound nodded sadly to the young slate witch, she was in the same profession in the same flock as this dead witch, it was likely she may have known her.
"I'm sorry you had to come look at this, you diddnt know her did you?"
Pound sighed as he looked to the limp body of the witch and nodded to Capp.
"Ehh we should probably turn her over now? ...get a good look at her injuries"

Kishiko shuffled over to the left side of the bird, avoiding the spattered blood, and leaned in in order to get a closer look at the body.
"Unfortunately no, not really. You see, I'm rather new to the flock and haven't really had the chance to meet many others. I knew her by name and site more than anything else. But I do know she was rather sweet and innocent, so she wasn't one to have any personal enemies."

Pound nodded at the Ma's witch
"That might be for the best then, Its not nice at all to have to attend the death of your friends"
He looked to the corpse at the floor and then readied himself, He bent low and then turned to the two witches
"Ok I'm just going to shift her over, we're going to need a clear look at this,
.....Sorry girl"
He said sadly as with a smooth gentle movement the female was shifted onto her back, the deep stab-like wound was clear in her side.
"Whoever did this was probably sneaking behind her"
Pound motioned with a wing to the distance behind them
"Well that's not much help, anything could come from over there"
he turned as though he had spotted an invisible attacker, trying to figure out what may have happened.
"She turns, but not fast enough? and gains a wound to her side here"
as he motioned he noticed something stuck to his wing feather, in the blood which stained his feathers a tuft of black down clung.
"Huh, shes slate, ...but shes not a completely dark girl is she?"
he held the tuft of down to the witches

Kishiko helped the other pigeon turn the body over.
Leaning forward, she probed the wound gently. "The attack must have been near sun rise, since the body is cold but the blood has only dried slightly. The wound is jagged, as well as the skin around it, suggesting the attack was swift." Taking the proffered feather, she examined it. "No, she isn't. Mixed parentage perhaps?"
She turned to the body once more, this time examining the feathers around the wound. Sliding a glance to the coffee colored pigeon, she commented, "I don't believe I know your name yet. My name is Kishiko. And you are doctor...?"

Pound listened to the witch and nodded,
"Pound-a-Pint"
She was right, the dead witch was too light in colour for this to be any of her feathers. This wasn't one of the victims feathers, it was a deep dark black. Taking back the down from the young witch he smiled slightly they had been given a break, a very small one.
"I think we do have one clue then, this isn't one of hers, this is our murderer"
Pound tweaked the midnight down between his primaries examining it.
"Looks like our murderer had black down feathers "

Kishiko let out a small coo in laughter.
"Unfortunately, that numbers it down to roughly a third of all the pigeons. But, I think we can safely say the murderer was an adult, male or female. But he or she must have been of a rather sizable build in order to generate enough power to do such damage."
