Avril Lavigne is of course a very famous singer in USA too ... But as I figured out she is so much more famous than for example Lady Gaga in Middle eastern and far eastern countries ,Just check her Facebook fan pages ... She has got Iranian, Azarbaijani,Turkish,Arab,Japanese,Korean,etc fans...
I was wonder why she is really famous in this regions?

I think it's be cause she is not a harlot...
I don't know if you have noticedor not but non-harlot western singers are more famous here...like Taylor Swift....Just take a look at her Persian Wikipedia page.... and also Avril's page... I myself am a fan of both!

I never noticed this.
It seems to me like Lady Gaga is the most popular western singer in Iran at the moment.
Does Avril still make music? I haven't heard anything from her in a long time.
