I see where you're coming from, but people react differently to trauma. I mean, if people you regarded as your brothers (especially in a hostile environment) not only betrayed you, but 'raped' you.... well I'd be quick to change my views and values too.
I 'did' find that his friend's reactions to be a bit extreme when the news got out, but their whole lifestyle is basically based around hate. Of course they'd be offended and pissed off that one of their icons came home 'singing a new tune'.

I hear you, but the change had already somewhat begun before the rape hadn't it? At the very least, the fact that the gang had turned on him due to his issues with their drug use and association, seemed unlikely. Those groups are more tightly knit than that. Especially to one coming in with a great deal of respect. He would have been treated like a damned god, and if they did drugs, or dealt with other races, and he didn't like it, they may not have stopped, but they would have hidden it at least.
I dunno, these are really very very minor quibbles. As I said, I'm this close to adding that one. I just forgot about it when I made that list.
