Name: Aislynn Carrow
xxxxxxxxxx Aislynn chooses to keep her father's last name.

Race: Human

Stage: Witchling

Gender: Female

Biography:

Aislynn was born to a young couple, Abel and Pamela Carrow. They had a comfortable home where her mother worked, keeping it shinning and strong and a small ranch where they raised all manner of creatures. Aislynn worked closely with her Mother on the farm, enjoying the creatures' company. Abel was a Cerberus Knight, and while he was often away on missions, when he did come home he devoted his time to his family. There was no doubt that he was away too much, but he was a hero to Aislynn, everything that she wanted to be. Aislynn adored her Father, he was brave and strong and she was proud of his work…..

….until he had died during a mission. She didn’t even know where or how, it was classified. She had no one to hate, no one to plot against with vengeance consuming her mind, so she transferred her anger to the Cerberus Knights, blaming them for her loss. Aislynn mother, Pamela, remarried not a year later, Aislynn feels that it was her way of dealing with things, but she couldn’t stand him. He squandered their money away, her Father’s money and would not lift a finger to help. Her Mother worked hard to support the family, and tried so hard to keep the peace but Aislynn couldn’t stand seeing her like that. Aislynn even took up odd jobs for people, pulling weeds, running errands, anything to help out.

Aislynn disliked her step-father yes, but she could no longer look at her Mother the same. Pamela was allowing herself to be taken advantage of and Aislynn couldn’t understand why. The farm was dying and Aislynn found no happiness in her home anymore, so she left. She felt that her Mother had made her choice and so it was her turn to choose.

At first she didn’t know where she was going or what she was going to do. She realized how much she had had now that she had lost it, but Aislynn still felt leaving was the right thing to do. She lived on the streets, still working for almost nothing, some food usually, when she could. It was hard, and she experienced both the good and the bad in people. Aislynn leaned that you could only rely on yourself.

Aislynn enjoyed her freedom though, until a beautiful women cloaked in glittering velvet approached her. She introduced herself as Lyra, her Mother’s sister. Pamela hadn’t ever spoken much about her but had told Aislynn once that she was a powerful witch and that they had a falling-out. She could almost see her Mother in her Aunt, but she would never say there was anything similar about them now.

Lyra promised Pamela that she would find her daughter, but Aislynn refused to go back. She didn’t think she could face her Mother or see what had become of her since her leaving. Lyra suggested they compromise, if Aislynn agreed to attend Makai Royal Academy, Lyra would tolerate her presence and allow her to live with her ((or do they stay in dorms???)) and Pamela would be satisfied that Aislynn was safe. Aislynn declined, to proud and stubborn to accept but Lyra left her with an address. Eventually Aislynn found her Aunt and accepted her terms. She decided that freedom wasn’t worth loosing everything over. Instead of facing her mistakes, she sought to replace her Mother with Lyra and start anew, but she is still haunted by the depilated ranch and the people and memories that reside there.

Magical Concentration:
Something with sound, I’m working on this….I like the ideas of using summons as a focus. Perhaps she calls forth summons with a song? That and maybe supportive magic to enhance her teammates and summons?

Personality:
Aislynn is mature for age, having to help her Mother run the house then fend for herself completely once she left. She is stubborn and proud but is generally tolerant of others. She has a hard time trusting or relying on people, but she accepts them for who they are. While she gets agitated quickly and is prone to explosions of anger, Aislynn also tends to forgive quickly, beliving in second chances. She values hard work and hates those that prey on the weak. She is quiet, but will speak up if she feels she needs to. She is perpetually grumpy, with a bad attitude. Aislynn is loyal though and willing to stick her neck out for others; she hates to see innocent people suffer.

Family
Abel Carrow - Father- deceased. Was a memeber of the Cerberus Knights, he passed away while on duty.
Pamela Hilladar - Mother. Lives with her second husband on a small ranch.
Charles Hilladar - Step-father. Lives with Pamela. Was also married before and a high-ranking official until he was accused of using his station for profit. Gambled all of his money away is currently working on doing the same with Pamela's.
Lyra Sterling - Aunt. A wealthy, un-married severe but smart woman. Has taken Aislynn under her glamerous wings.

Other:
Aislynn loves to sing and has a very pretty, albeit untrained voice. She can be found signing when she thinks nobody is around. She picked it up from a boy who used to work on her family's ranch he said that the animals like it.
History interests her and she likes to delve into a nice thick history book now and then. She also enjoys reading novels and even picks up a romance now and again.

Visual References:
I’m not really set on anything yet as far her looks go. I’m thinking short hair or maybe long but really messy hair, narrowed eyes, and rough-around-the-edges looking.

Nice, I see her as a well rounded character already, there's just a couple pieces of the puzzle that are missing for me. These are just the empty spaces I thought about when reading her bio, I don't know if anybody else will think they're relevant or not.

What exactly did she and her mother fight about that was so strong she'd run away from home and refuse to go back? Did her mother want to forgive him, honor him, or just insist that he didn't really abandon them? Her stubbornness seems like a huge character trait.

Her anger seems to be jumping back and forth, but that may just be because you're in the middle of revisions. The first line makes it seem like she's mad at her father for leaving, but then it seems she's more mad at the Knights for taking him away from her. Then it seems more like the reason she left was because she hated her stepfather and what he mother had turned into, as opposed to an argument about her biological father.

What kind of impression did living on the streets have on Aislynn? Being suddenly homeless and living in a cardboard box can be traumatic for anyone.

Where did her love of music come from? And where would her affinity for summoning creatures come from?

Anyway, those are just my ideas ^_^ Very cool so far!

Yay! Quest character! Good luck. c: <33

Small critiques:
I have a few questions that came to mind as I read on:

1). What kind of "odd jobs for people" did she do? Did this affect Aislynn somehow?
2). What exactly does she and her mother fight about so strongly that would make her run away from home like that?

She seems kind of lost to me, but I'm not sure if you this was on purpose or not. I'm not exactly sure why though. Maybe once those questions are answered somehow it'll be clear to me. |D;;

Overall, good job, her bio tells a lot about her as a whole and she is a very interesting and well-rounded character indeed. xD

I want... to know more about Aislynn's relationship with her father. Obviously, she was tormented by his death and by her mother's reaction to his passing, but what was it about him that she adored? Were they close when she was young, so it felt as though she had lost a friend? Or was he more of a distant hero whose pedastal was shattered by a death that she thought would never touch him?

Also, since her father was a Cerberus Knight, how does he live in her memory now that she has focused all of her rage against the group the he was apart of?

...Stream of conscious, I apologize, but it seems as though her father's death was one of the most pivotal points in her life. How she handled and continues to cope with that (which doesn't seem to be very healthily) would drastically affect how she responds to the rest of the world.

Regarding Lyra. You say she ended up going to her because she was tired of having nothing, but perhaps elaborate on that relationship as well. She left her mother, who obviously needs help, and ended up going to her aunt, a woman related to her mother, yet who she barely knows. Why does she feel safer going to this stranger who probably reminds her of her mother in some way than in returning to her mother?

I like the idea of her having supportive magic. Perhaps it stems from the lingering guilt from leaving her mother in her time of need. :3

In her personality, you mention a lot, in different ways, that she's forgiving and will put herself on the line for others. Is this need to help and/or be there for others something that stems from guilt over her mother? If so, if the woman who raised her needs help, why couldn't she go back and insist on helping her? Perhaps she gets her stubbornness from her mother.

All in all, I like her a lot. I think you're headed in a wonderful direction. Can't wait to see what she turns into. x3
