As soon as he had escorted Ari onto the balcony, Luferius locked the glass door behind him before turning to face the girl. He took a deep breath and began. "My queen, during your absence Tuomas had found some rather interesting information in the library that may interest you." He held up the ancient tome that he had been carrying for her to examine.

She looked in confusion at the book held in front of her. She had been positive that this would have been a lecture about Ryn, but now she wasn't so certain. "What kind of information?"

The vampire smiled, knowing that he had gained her attention. "That is precisely what I had wished to show you. You were turned quite recently and our legends are still a mystery to you." He held the book out for her to take.

Ari reached a hesitant hand out to take the book. She was curious to see what could be inside it. Opening the heavy book, she flipped through the ancient pages taking care not to damage the yellowed and faded paper. She had always found mythology to be an interesting subject, especially the stories that went with them. Soon enough, she became fully engrossed in her reading.

Stepping behind the queen, Luferius was cautious not to disturb her reading. He merely peered over her shoulder every once and again to determine her location in the book. As she turned to a page that he had recently read, the vampire spoke up. "This is the section I wished for you to read. It is about one of the first rulers of this kingdom, Lord Nicolae. His reign was long and terrible, but I believe you may find the records of his demise to be most intriguing."

Ari was not expecting the sudden voice that had spoken up behind her and jumped to spin around and face Luferius. "...Lord Nicolae?" For some reason, the name sounded very familiar. She shook her head as images of the strange field of roses and the shadowed figure coming back to her in sharp detail.

This was the reaction that Luferius had been hoping for. His smile widened as he approached closer, lifting her chin to gaze deep into her eyes. "Would you care for me to show you?" The hypnotic eyes bore into the queen's as waves of memory passed through her.

Luferius kept a firm hold as his eyes glowed even brighter with power. They looked deep into the eyes of the queen, relaying the ancient tale in it's entirety. This transfer of knowledge lasted a few minutes longer as he pulled back and released Ari's chin. "Do you remember now, Immortal Rose?" He crossed behind the girl to whisper in her ear. "You were very much a part of this kingdom from the very beginning. That is why Lord Katsuto brought you here from the mortal realm. He wished to return you to your original home." The vampire's hand moved to rest on the pendant around her neck. "Why else do you think the pendant chose you as the next ruler? It has been here ever since the first king ascended to the throne. The same chain that suspends it from your neck has also hung from the throat of Lord Nicolae." He chuckled slightly as he moved back to gaze once more in her eyes. "Forget this Ryn Kuromaru. Forget ever being Ari. That is not your name, that is not who you are." His voice was calm yet commanding. "You are Rosencroix, you are the Immortal Rose." Slowly he released his hold over the queen, closing the book she still held to awaken her and bring her back to the present. "I shall return this book to the library for the time being. Do call if you need me, my queen." With a bow, he reopened the balcony door and disappeared.

Ari shook her head as she came out of a daze. She moved her hand to the side of her head to try making sense of what had just happened. She remembered reading the book, but much of everything else was faint and blurry. She closed her eyes in an attempt to focus, but all she could see was a pair of glowing eyes staring back at her.

Returning from showing Ilyia to her chambers, Tuomas glanced outside at the balcony. Pausing, his face creased with concern as he opened the door and spoke to the queen. "My Lady, are you well? It is not good to unaccompanied by at least one guard for long lengths of time. Especially not until you are capable of using your powers." Remembering another matter of business, the youth gave a bow. "With all do respect, it would be best for you to return inside. There is a prisoner in the dungeon that wishes to speak with you. Shall I escort you there?"

Jumping at Tuomas' voice, she turned and smiled politely at him. "I'll be alright, thank you." The talk of a prisoner in the dungeon made her worry. She partially wondered if Ryn had been thrown in there again, though she knew that wasn't very likely. Ari walked over to Tuomas, closing the balcony doors behind her. "Yes, please take me to see this prisoner."

With a humble bow, Tuomas gestured for her to follow as he led the way to the castle's dungeons.
