I might be the first to say it but I really dislike the new version, the album version, of "You and I" she has been preforming. I don't like the guitar, the clapping or the back up vocals. it's all changed. It's no longer a rock song, it's cheesy country. I don't like the new lyrics much ether. It really saddens me too because the version she has been performing up until now was shaping up to be my favorite song :/
anyone else feel the same?

When in Rome, do as the Romans do ╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ I have yet to hear it, so I cannot say. Though as Tee likes pretty much all music(including country) I might end up liking it more. I actually prefer BTW Country Road version, after all.
And how are you, good to see you back. biggrin

And how are you, good to see you back. biggrin She preformed it on the big radio weekend and a bit on Oprah. it's not bad don't get me wrong, it's just the original meant so much to me for many reasons and it's just so different now. It just saddens me. And I'm good. I got a bit bored with gaia so i haven't been on for a while but then I realized I missed all of you so i came back. And thank you :]

Well we we're never promised that the live performance version was actually the done version now, we're we? Remember, Lady Gaga makes no promises. Plus who knows, this could've been the original.
From what I've heard, or read, there's electric guitars, never heard about the clapping or back-up vocals.
But remember there will always be differences. There probably needed to be changes made ya know. Evey song has back-up vocals, we know that. Plus the record company probably wouldn't have allowed it to be just Gaga on her piano.
Plus the song did need a bridge. The live version beforehand didn't have a bridge.
I think I'll love it even more myself. Porbably because it won't sound like cheesy country. Trust me, I live in Tennessee. This is the capital of cheesy country songs.

And to be honest, I prefer all the guitar and the back up vocals .. It gives it more of the feel of classic rock and soul in my opinion.

Well she did tweet that she would be performing the "album" version on Oprah and she did preform the newer version. I suppose it does need all thous things but I really just enjoyed the simplicity of the concert one with the piano the electric guitar solo and the big instrumental section. i guess it's just me though haha and thank you jeff biggrin

I don't like this "new" version either. :I I was hoping it would be more like a "Brown Eyes" sound on the final album.

Aren't the guitar parts played by Brian May? Call me biased, but being the Queen worshiper I am, I'd say it's winner. I haven't even heard it yet.
