The screen lights up, showing the ASaR Research and Development Laboratories building on a dark and stormy night. The yellow lights from the building shine out of the darkness, in contrast with the rainy foreground, before a flash of lightning reveals the building as a whole and a slightly damaged Welcome sign.
ELLIE: THIS NEXT EXPERIMENT MIGHT REQUIRE SOME EXPLANATION...
Flash to a pair of wrestling boots walking down a clean hallway. Very clean. Sterile even. The floor and halls are completely white, lit up brightly, as the camera zooms out the back of a cloaked man walking down this abandoned but eerily clean hall.
ELLIE: WITH AS MANY COMPETITORS COMING IN AS WE HAVE, I CANNOT HELP BUT THINK WE ARE MISSING AN OPPORTUNITY TO TRULY EXPLORE A WRESTLER'S ABILITIES...
A man in a white lab coat walks by the cloaked man, looking at him oddly as he passes, as if surprised to see him. The cloaked man keeps going, nothing breaking his stride. He bumps shoulders with the lab rat causing the scientist to drop his clipboard with an annoyed grunt.
ELLIE: WITH THE GROUP SELECTED, YOU WERE THE LOGICAL CHOICE. THE ONLY ONE COMPATIBLE WITH THIS PARTICULAR EQUIPMENT. THE ONLY ONE I WAS INTERESTED IN SEEING.
With the group selected, you were the logical choice. The only one compatible with this particular equipment. The only one -I- was interested in seeing.
The camera shows a pair of blue and black gloves in a dark room. Upon closer inspection, they are gloved cauntlets, with some degree of technology upon them. They are an impressive, if not expensive looking, thing to behold. Metallic automatic doors open up in the background, letting in a flood of light, which highlights the shadowy figure of the cloaked man standing in the doorway.
ELLIE: I TOOK THESE FROM ASaR. THEY WOULD HAVE JUST GONE TO WASTE... THEY ARE FOR YOU. JUST... SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE.
Kelly King 2.0, removes his hood and cloth mask to reveal a toothy grin, snatching up the gloves.
There is a flash of light and the next shot is of 2.0 laying on a table. His wrists are opened up, revealing muscle and bone and tendon, as little mechanical arms and tools reach in and poke and prod. It appears as though some kind of wiring is being laid up all through his arms. He does not appear to be enjoying this surgery, as he stares up at the ceiling with a pained expression on his face. The little droid doodads move about as quickly as they can, powered by a technology programmed to not make mistakes, allowing for inhuman precision and speed. A close up on his arms reveals that wiring may have gone all the way up to his brain...
ELLIE: THERE. ALL DONE. HOW DO YOU FEEL?
The shot returns to Kelly King 2.0 picking up the gloves in the darkly lit room. His hands and fingers look recently operated on, and what appears to be veins move up his arms, when in reality it is more likely the light wiring inside of him. He slips on the gloves and locks the gauntlets into place. They light up blue, as does the screen on the right hand with a little anime smiley face saying welcome, followed by the ASaR Research logo. King smirks.
King: Like a new man... or several.
