"You'll want to spend some time in my library looking up some things to best familiarize yourself with this world," he said, rather than attempting to explain what a camel was. "As for a home, that is something that must be earned. Only Apostles have permanent homes here, but there is a temporary living area in the basement that you can make use of, until you've reached that point," he said.

Vulgier finished his meal in haste, finally filling his belly after three days with no food, just water. He finished off his final drink of the night, and responded, "I shall be more than glad to tear apart this library with my eyes, I'm quite a fast reader myself. And earning my place is to be expected, I'd have it no other way. What's an achievement worth if there was no struggle to get there?" He stood up, and slowly started pacing back and forth, in deep thought.

Okay! He's distracted, for now. Using this opportunity, she discreetly gestured for the bunnies to flee upstairs and wait by the door to her room. Once there, they could don the disguise masks cleverly hidden nearby and no one would be the wiser that they weren't actually part of the staff. Go, go little ones! Make like you're in the Safari Zone and RUN. You know. Just to be safe, in case the camel wasn't enough.
Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. He at least knows they're off limits for eating now. And, as the old saying went, the first sign of a possible new friend is the certainty they won't eat you and everyone you care about. ...Paraphrased of course. The safety of her pets no longer a concern, she returned to her cake vodka mix. Which she was still very much all about.
...
Oh god dammit.

As Vulgier was pacing, he heard the scurrying of tiny fluffy paws, and turned to see a multitude of fluffy bunnies running upstairs. "Oh geeze, am I that scary??" Vulgier asked, honestly hoping he no longer worried anyone. "You have my word I won't eat any bunnies, and If nothing, I'm always a man of my word." Vulgier looked down and smiled, remembering all the promises he's made, and has yet to break even one. "My queen, if you don't mind my asking, are you all about that cake...vodka? I see you drink quite a lot of it. Have you ever tried mixing it with anything? I used to bartend for a while back in my universe when I was in need of gold, so if you ever need tips, don't hesitate to ask!" He then sat down yet again, and rested his chin on his fist, going through his memories of bar tending, boy did that get crazy at times, but it still brought a smile to his face every time.

"Aw. I mean, bunnies are skittish by nature. It's how they've made it so long as a species, y'know? A brave bunny doesn't last long in the wild. But yeah. I'll trust you on that. So, don't worry bout it." Hopefully she wouldn't live to regret this. Shan finished off the last of her drink, and quickly ordered another to replace it. "Oh, uh. This is mixed actually! With white chocolate liqueur. No kidding, it's like drinking a cake. It even has little sprinklies!" she smiled wide, much like a hyperactive kid actually enjoying a cake might. "But of course, if you know other ways, I'd be glad to hear them. Because I'm all about... that.. eurghh." she trailed off, half groaning and half cringing.

"Very true, my queen. I remember when I was merely a child, I myself had to run often. When my mentor wasn't around, danger lurked everywhere, and even when he was there, he himself almost killed me many times growing up!" Vulgier laughed heartily, tonight was the night he would walk down memory lane, it seemed. "I remember when I killed my first Riktar. They are very large, looking like some weird combination between a boar and a bear! I didn't get to keep a trophy because my mentor ate it immediately after...but that's when I started gaining my strength, and learning to face my fears." He had to stand up again, he was never one to stay still for long. "And that sounds like quite the mix there! How do you feel about blended drinks, though?" He inquired.

"Oh dear goodness. That certainly does sound exciting. And dangerous. ...Mostly dangerous though." She thought a moment. "Hm. Even so..." She turned to Matasoga, who seemed oddly quiet given the setting and situation. "Hey Sir, maybe we can have an epic adventure? All of us! I mean we don't have to kill or eat anything. But something! It might be FUN." She glanced up at him, a mischievous spark in her eye. "...Um. But for now just drinks and talk. Something blended might be good! Just as long as it tastes delicious and isn't overpoweringly strong."

Matasoga had been quietly savoring his steak, during their antics. "Hmmm..." he said, his mind turning back to the books and the untold promise that they held. There was really no telling what their pages may ultimately unlock. "We shall see," he finished, simply.

Vulgier's interest was piqued when he heard the word adventure. "My whole life has been an adventure, and if one should come to pass with new friends, all I can say is the more the merrier!" He grinned wide at the notion of going on and adventure with the guild leader and queen. "Also, how does an alcoholic milkshake sound then? It's rather simple, and very delicious, if you like Kahlua and Bailey's, with some vanilla ice cream, ice, and Hershey's chocolate syrup! As a matter of fact, I'd like one myself now that I'm thinking about it!" Vulgier then started looking around for a blender and the ingredients.

Could it be? Could such a decadent concoction actually exist? It sounded almost too good to actually be a part of anything but the most unrealistic of fairy tales. "Oh. Hell. Yeah. That sounds amazing!" she replied, trying very hard to not think of the probable calorie count of something so sugary. "I want one too! If... if that's okay I mean."

Without looking up from his book Matasoga said, "Then I suggest you tell the bartender. He's the one with the equipment and access to the ingredients." He turned the page, while the bartender shifted slightly, looking at the two intently. He turned a page and added, "Shanderaa, of course you can go just about anywhere and be welcome, but the cooks don't much care for intrusions into their kitchen. They just know that Apostles have the run of the place, though they will toss out anyone else... But then that's why we have a waiter/bartender."

"In that case, bartender , I believe the queen would care for that milk shake. I would too, please." Vulgier smiled, giddy at the thought of the delicious treat soon to come. It had been years since he had anything with chocolate-related, though he knew Hershey's didn't truly count as real chocolate. Close enough, he thought. "On the topic of adventures, would either of you care to hear of mine? Throughout my travels, I seem to have become quite the bard!" Truly he couldn't stop being flooded with his memories, so he might as well share some, he decided.

The bartender nodded, and went to make them their drinks. Shan was sure she didn't have to tell him to use the Queen's Special Stash of Ingredients™ for hers. Bro knew her well enough by now.
"Buuut anyways. Yeah! I for one would like to hear! How bout you, Sir?"

"I'll have just a shot of it," he said, without looking up. Matasoga liked sweet, but more classically sweet, such as mead, than overpoweringly so, such as... That. Such things, he felt were better in small doses, particularly while he was in study.
