I feel like a lot of the couples were rushed in the movies
I mean Remus and Tonks were just all of a sudden married and expecting a kid.
Their relationship had a tragic ending... but Tonks didn't have to be at the Battle. She made a choice between her husband and son and she chose to be with her husband.
Snape and Lily were really just friends. However there is always the possibility that had the marauders not bullied Severus, he may have turned out differently and Lily could have grown to love him...
Ginny and Harry as well as Ron and Hermione were both kind of inevitable.. Harry and Hermione were like surrogate members of the Weasley family from a young age... It made sense that they married into the family in the end.

I think that Lilly and Severus had a beautiful love, a little one sided, but they had a long standing relationship with eachother. I cried so much when I found out about their shared childhoods, and it made me even sadder when I learned that Severus turned double agent against the death eaters because they were targeting Lilly. I thought it was the most heart breaking twist the story had throughout the entire series. I am glad that Severus' hatred of Harry was finally explained by the end of the series. Yes, it was a hatred because of James Potter and the similarities between Harry and James but it was also that Harry represented the family he had been unable to have with Lilly.
After all who isn't a sucker for a tragic love story? heart
