Is it terrible that I don't really care? So another man is dead....so what? So that man's crimes affected more people than you usually hear about....mmk. I'm pretty much unaffected.

I cared for about an hour and then just got bored.
I think part of the reason is that this war has just dragged on for far too long, got way too boring, lacks a clear definition of a victory, is waged against an abstract concept, nobody gives a s**t anymore, and nobody even really remembers or even cares why the hell we're even still over there.
Nobody in my university is really celebrating. Instead, we're holding sustainability seminars and spreading eco-friendly propaganda using paper. The one time that really got me was that they were holding a barbecue while they were at it...burning charcoal, the production of which promotes deforestation and the releasing carbon dioxide.

Bin Laden took great pleasure in organizing an attack that took the lives of thousands of Americans. He was brought to justice. Now, I don't support the college kids who were screaming in front of the White House looking for an excuse to party. That's just tacky. But I think people are entitled to feel relieved that he's no longer around to threaten the world.

Never said they weren't entitled to that, just that I don't happen to feel anything on the matter and would feel weird going "yay, someone died." Personal thing, not trying to shove it on others.

I get that. Wanted to make sure this thread didn't head off in that direction, is all.
Also anyone who thinks his death equates to terrorism ending is a silly goose. But his acts changed America's mindset and pushed us towards an age of fear and distrust of our fellow man. He deserved what he got.
