It entirely depends on the voice actors they've chosen to dub the anime. I usually watch the first episode of an anime dubbed in english and if I find it painful or a character's voice too inaccurate I switch to the original Japanese audio and throw on the subs. I did enjoy the InuYasha, School Rumble, Peach Girl, and You're Under Arrest anime's in their dubbed versions, but there are many more that I will not watch unless the Japanese audio is on.
InuYasha was one of my first animes. And it was good in both English and Japanese. The character's voices suited them well.
