Just Before An Eclipse ((Please don't truly worry about points taken away Drago, a) Gryffindor's way ahead, and b) Professor Benoit exists because there should be a teacher that's terribly disliked for a while at least.)) ((I know, I was just staying in charactor)) Drago finished his notes and waited for more work.

'I'm wiping the score board clean,' Harmony thought, amazed she caught a very brief flash of fear in Professor Benoit's eyes. Apparently there was something good in the slightly rude, and brusque lady—if the girl's interpation was correct that was. The professor earned the Slytherin's respect, but ony a tad. After the the woman asked her question, the girl repiled, "a compass, madam," in a calm voice. She was pretty sure that was it, after all, the brunette had quickly read up on the charm, like she did every one she was told to perform in class.

Devon entered the class without uttering a word, going to a seat at the far back and acknowledging his cousin with a small wave.

Almost absentmindedly, she deducted five points from Hufflepuff, as she smiled at the room. Her first years were doing wonderfully; Melody seemed to be a strong contender and Blaine definitely had gained confidence during her second lesson. Glancing at Drago, who seemed to be waiting for something, she sharply said, “Practice your spell. Unless you think you know it well enough to do it for me the first time?” She hadn’t seen him perform it once. His lack of focus was not only an annoyance, but at this time, a dangerous trait.
Her attention turned to Harmony. "Excellent." She inhaled softly, as if planning her words carefully. "Chinese fortune tellers used the first types of compasses. They used lodstones, not for directional purposes, but to harmonize their lives or for geomancy, a form of Diviniation." She did nearly scoff at the subject. Still she continued, "Soon however, it was discovered that these stones only pointed in one direction. It was used for navigational purposes in the Qing Dynasty, which was the first ruling Dynasty of China. Wizards created their own version of this modern day spell for ease." she cleared her throat, as the words appeared under history, and continued with the fact that many heard of, "It is said that Hermione Granger created this version, but it is unlikely due to her aversion to non-Ministry approved spells." She glanced around the room. "Which all of you should take notice of. Don't go creating spells on your own, its a dangerous business. You'll more than likely get your head blown off for your efforts."

Being anoyed by the decrees and Professor Benoit, Drago looked at her and barely keeping his temper under control he said "Yes Professor" through gritted teeth. He got out an extra quil and placed it on the desk. He pointed his wand at it, did the proper movement and said "Windgardium Leviosa". It only lifted an inch off the desk and fell back down. Wait a second, if I work hard at magic, I might be able to take down that she devil Desdemona! Drago thought to himself as a smirk crawled onto his face. After that Drago started practicing like a made man. On the third time he said "Windgardium Leviosa" and accedentaly sent the quil deep into the ceiling.

 Blaine tried not to snort as Drago sent his quill into the ceiling. Should I help him? she asked herself as she watched him practice. Nah. He'll just get annoyed. He's already annoyed by Desdemona, the decrees, and getting snapped at by the professor. She shrugged and looked around the classroom, then stiffened when the two newest decrees were announced. She didn't even notice a calculating grin had spread across her face as she thought of what she could do to not follow the two newest decrees.
