Smiling Mitsu climbed over the couch slowly and slid into Desmond's awaiting arms. "Missed me huh?" Making herself comfortable Mitsu snuggled in close, her hands already playing with the material of his shirt sneaking lower to slide just under the hem to touch his skin.
"How much did you miss me?" She teased right back though the smile she wore was a little shy. Teasing wasn't something she did on purpose well.

As Mitsu finally fell into his arms, Desmond smiled warmly. "More than the Earth misses the sun after a harsh winter's night. More than a tree misses water during a drought... And more than an astronomer misses the stars on a cloudy night." He said softly, reaching up to touch her cheek.
Though, Desmond appeared to twitch a little when her hands started working their way up his shirt. Maybe she wouldn't try to take it off..

Mitsu was a little taken back by how creatively elaborate Desmond could be when using such sweet words. Blushing a bit she continued to smile shyly, leaning closer to press a kiss to his lips again. She was about to deepen that kiss when she felt him twitch slightly under her touch, her fingers drawing back a little.
Curiously, the wolf girl moved back to look at the vampire, concern in her eyes. "What's wrong? Are you sore too?" If she remembered right he had been stabbed in the stomach as well. Maybe the wound was still bothering him? "It doesn't still hurt does it?" A bit more gently Mitsu ran her hand further up his shirt to rest it gently against his abs. She was sure Desmond healed much faster than she did but it was possible he was still sore despite that. Even though she healed fairly quickly she was generally sore for a couple of days.

Desmond seemed a little nervous when Mitsu questioned what was wrong. He could tell her, but...
"... A little." No, it really didn't hurt at all... And he'd told her he wouldn't lie to her.
Glancing away, his smile faded. "Actually, Mitsu..." He started softly, a feeling of awkwardness setting in. "I don't..."
What was the best way to say it? WAS there a best way to say it? "I... Feel unattractive." It had sounded better in his head, he supposed. "I mean... I don't feel like I'm good enough for you."

Mitsu nodded a little, her hand still touching him lightly. She would have to remember to be gentle with him as well if he was still sore. Ready to continue Mitsu looked up in time to see that smile fade from Desmond's face and sound of apprehension in his voice.
"Unattractive?" Mitsu questioned, her brows furrowed together. Desmond had always seemed so confident, what had changed? "What would make you say such a thing about yourself?" Mitsu asked, drawing her hands back so that she could place them on his cheeks and turn his focus back in her direction. "You're the most handsome guy I've ever met." Maybe it was because she never really told him. He always told her how beautiful she was but she didn't tell him nearly as often how handsome he was. It seemed a bit unfair, he always made her feel good about herself but she couldn't seem to do the same. He just...always seemed to know.

"I'm not sure you'd think that anymore." Desmond sighed as he looked up at her face, gentle hands moving to caress her sides.
Though, he couldn't really muster the gumption to tell her why. 'I just... Feel like you deserve the best. And I don't think that's me... I don't breathe or hold my own warmth... I have to feed off others to stay alive, and now.."
His eyes stayed focused on hers until he reached that point. "I don't know..." Desmond mumbled and looked away.

"D...Desmond," Mitsu looked concerned and worried. Desmond had never acted this way before. It was like the confidence had been sucked right out of him. "I know you like to complement me to make me feel better about myself but please don't hold me up on a pedestal. I'm not perfect nor will I ever be."
As the vampire looked away again Mitsu tried to regain his attention. "You have far more to offer than any of that." She smiled warmly as she looked into his eyes thinking of all the things he had done for her. "You are and will always be my sanctuary, Desmond. That safe place that I know I can come to where I will be accepted and loved no matter what. You've been building my confidence despite how tiring it is for you at times. Today...I've never stood up for myself before and you made me feel like I could. Like I deserved to be with you."
Running her fingers through his golden hair she placed a light kiss on his cheek. "Even if you weren't the most gorgeous man I've ever laid my eyes on..and you are, that wouldn't really matter to me. Besides, I like your cool touch." She said running her fingers lightly across his cheek though a light blush crept up on her face thinking that line through a little further. "And the feeding, I dunno its weird. I like being able to give you a part of me. To know I can help you live another day."

With every word that came out of Mitsu's mouth, Desmond's expression began to lighten until his eyes started to become glassy.
"Don't ever leave me." Desmond begged, his hands reaching up to cup her face. "I don't know what I'd do without you anymore Mitsu... You're the sunlight I was never able to have before." The vampire whispered softly as he pressed his lips to hers, his touch a little shaky. It was a little embarrassing... That he'd learned to rely on her company so much. Though he didn't regret a minute of it. She'd made something out of him. Taken an animal and given it some kind of conscience. She'd helped him see that life wasn't about just living, but feeling alive... And he really couldn't thank her enough for it.
Pulling away after a moment, Desmond moved his lips closer to her ear. "I love you."

Mitsu smiled even more, pressing a hand against the one on her cheek. "Never. I'll always be with you, Desmond." One way or another she hoped she could be. Or at least for as long as she was allowed.
His sweet words had her blushing, leaning into his hand. As his lips touched hers softly she could feel his shaking, though it was slight. Pressing in a little closer she deepened the kiss before he pulled away to whisper into her ear. Those three little words made her heart flutter in her chest, even though she had heard them before. She was certain she would never grow tired of it.
"I love you too. Forever and always."
Nuzzling into his neck a little, Mitsu continued to run her fingers through his shorter silky blonde hair. She liked the feel of it against her fingertips.
"What had you so worried anyway?" Mitsu asked after a short moment, curious about what had been plaguing Desmond. "You can tell me." The look she had was very accepting, no matter what he said she wouldn't turn away.

It was so nice to hear that. To have assurance that she wanted the exact same thing, even if neither of them could really predict the future.
Though there was still a little apprehension in his eyes when he was asked about it, Desmond wasn't nearly as afraid as he had been before. Carefully, he sat up, moving her along with him. Instead of saying anything, his hands moved to the hem of his shirt to slowly lift it up. The scar on the front was small and followed the natural lines of his body, the one on the back, however. "It's.. On my back."

Mitsu stared curiously at Desmond as he sat up with her in tow. She had just expected an answer but he was actually going to show her. At first she saw the small scar on his front and was a little confused how something so small could be a problem. It was barely visible.
"On your back?" Oh, that was right. She remembered glimpsing something back at the hospital. On her hands and knees she crawled around him on the couch until she was within view of what she was looking for. Her eyes went wide for a moment when she first saw the scar. She hadn't realized it was so big. "Oh...Desmond." Her fingers reached out to lightly touch the marred skin, tracing along the cross. "I..It must have hurt....so badly." It looked so very painful considering how large it was. In all honestly she didn't remember how hers had happened and had woken up on pain medication so it hadn't been all that intense.
Pressing both hands to his bare back Mitsu leaned forward a little to press a kiss to the scar. It wouldn't make it go away but it was her way of showing she accepted it. How could she not when she had so many scars of her own?
"I'm sorry...you were hurt trying to help me." He had been trying to escape with her and Gin- the man in the alley had prevented that from happening by very violent means. "A scar isn't so bad though is it?" Tentatively she waited for his answer, a small pang of nervous anticipation touching her from what he might say.

With nervous anticipation, Desmond watched Mitsu crawl behind him, a sort of sick churning in his stomach. At first, he took the "Oh Desmond" as a bad sign, but the warm fingers on his seared skin said something entirely different.
There was a flinch when her fingers met his flesh, but nothing but a sigh when he felt her soft lips touch. "N-no, it's okay." It had hurt... A lot. But it didn't anymore and that's what mattered.
"I'd do it again if it meant protecting you. And... I suppose it's nothing compared to what could've happened." He said softly, glancing over his shoulder to her. He could've lost his life... Or worse, she could've lost hers.
But... He was relieved. She wasn't disgusted by it, which made all the difference in his disposition.
"So... Where were we?" A big smirk crossed his lips as he asked, apparently back to the old Desmond. That was quick.

She was glad he wasn't upset. If he had been so upset over the scar she wasn't sure what she would have done. It was partially her fault that he had it....and if he had been upset about his what would he have said about hers? But he was still willing to protect her even at the cost of being hurt again so badly.
A smile starting to form on her lips, Mitsu's arms traced their way around Desmond's middle as she pressed herself close, nuzzling into his back. Fingers lightly tracing the muscles of his abdomen, she kissed the spot between his shoulder blades. "I think you may have to remind me." She tried teasing again.

"I dunno..." Desmond started, carefully turning around to face her. "It seems like you know exactly what you're doing."
There was a soft purr to his words as he crawled up next to her, pushing his body up against Mitsu's. "So... Would the lady rather stay on this comfy couch, or did you have somewhere else in mind for this... Activity?" His voice became more lower pitched and sly as he finished off his sentence, forehead pressed against hers.

Mitsu giggled shyly as Desmond pressed his forehead against hers. "We can stay here. We would probably have more room to move anyway." Her bed was rather small, especially compared to Desmond's. The couch actually had sections on it that folded out into recliners and one section that actually folded out into a bed. It was a nice couch, something her brother had taken from their old home.
Tilting her head up just a little Mitsu pressed her lips against Desmond's. With a soft touch her fingers tracing their way up his chest to the back of his neck using gentle pressure to pull him forward a little more. In a way it was just as relaxing as it was exciting to be doing this with him. It helped to ease away the anxiety she felt at least for the time being.
