so i had a drawing assignment for class. he told us to draw a drawing the represents its own value. i had a list of things going -money -family -friends -memories -expensive items ...etc. my list went on. i was having trouble picking one. so anytime i told some about this project i told them i was going to draw s**t. so i could say, "Its worth s**t". everyone laughed at the thought. so when it was coming to the last minutes to do this damn homework i decided, "hey why not?". i almost back down a couple times because looking at poop pictures was grossing me out. x.x (so nasty. i don't suggest looking at pictures of poop, why would someone want to anyway?) so i was on the search for the most elegant poop picture i could find. ...i had found one after an 1 hour of looking that i could stare at for about 4-6 hours. so here i present to you my... Value Drawing Poop Drawing "Its Worth s**t" Drawing

if you were giving this assignment, what would have you done?

If your going to work with animals...Dealing with fecal matter is a large portion of your job description. Though when you ask the average person what does a zoo keeper do...its not normally one of the first things they say.
Seriously Lion poop...is one of the most rank poops I have smelled. (carnivore poop is way more smelly than herbivore or omnivore poop).
But back to your picture, Nice concept and power to you for following through. It takes dedication to go against convention, and sticking to it too. I hope you get good marks for it.

>.< i bet its the smelliest. lol.
thanks. i think i will get a good mark. i was suppose to present in class Thursday, but time ran out right before my piece so i have to bring it back after my Spring vacation. my drawing was suppose to be a joke (obviously... because i knew everyone else would be serious), but i realized in class that mine is serious in a way. because although a poop drawing can say "its worth s**t", but when you actually think of poop and what it does for nature it's value means growth. you need fertilizer to grow things sometimes. so i guess poop isn't "worth s**t". sweatdrop

Thinking about poop in detail, yep as a bio grad I had to be able to explain the carbon cycle, the nitrogen cycle, and various life cycles. Poop is in them all.
Though often you see the story a artist says about thier art, and you question were they really thinking it at the start, or did they just draw something, and then at the end come up with a story to sell it better?
I do like the personal interpretation side of art though

i don't know what goes through artist minds... not even my own at times. but all my other classmates looked like they thought long and hard about their piece before doing it out. they were all good and had good points and stories behind them.
i just goofed off on mine because i could. but i usually think in depth about things... sometimes. ninja i guess its just the comic side of me. i like to make people laugh and just enjoy my work. i don't like to have my work involved with too much thinking. i hate when someone begins to think too much into something personal of mine and make into something i didn't intend it to be.

I was always terrible at those assignments. I've always considered myself a portrait artist, you know, "mad skills but rarely any super-duper ideas"
So, I have NO CLUE as to what I would have done. Probably pulled something out of my butt at last minute, come up with a smart a** remark to describe it, and be done, satisfied with a passing grade and a raised eyebrow from the instructor. Regardless, good on you friend, that's awesome. c:

@Novii: my ideas have been laming on me lately. i feel like i think too hard sometimes about ideas that my ideas in the end are never good. so lately i've been winging it last minute and doing whatever i think will just make me pass.

I like what you did there. If for no other reason that it's different than probably what anyone else ever would have thought to do, and yet is still meaningful.
As for me, I'm clichéd. I would have had to pick the value of love because I am a hopeless sap, and that is what a hopeless sap would pick sweatdrop

I used to be a hopeless sap until recently... like days ago and I feel totally empty inside
but back on topic... I have no idea what I would have done.. probably something cheese having to do with hope and faith if it had been assigned while I was in school
Interesting piece
