When Riyo leaned in to stare him down, Klyde slowly diverted his gaze away. That was confirmation if anything that Riyo was right on the mark about him not telling everything. "Yeah...I could have paid him off...if I had the money."
Klyde gave another sigh since he wasn't going to be able to hide his problem any longer. Riyo was just going to keep digging until she found out. "Truth is...I worked there not long ago...and got fired because of said incident." He couldn't seem to look at her for more than a couple of seconds at a time. "I didn't really want you to find out..."

It took Riyo only moments of silence to piece together everything.
His father had cut him off... Hadn't he?
"You idiot." Riyo mumbled before grabbing hold of his shoulders and pushing him down on the bench, her arms immediately wrapping around his neck afterwards. "I want you to tell me everything that happens to you so I can try to make it better..." Even if she felt the guilt pooling at the bottom of her stomach.
Clinging tighter, she did her best to mask the frown hiding just beneath her skin. "It's the least I can do for all the things you do for me." Only now daring to pry an arm away, she reached up to gently touch his slightly bruised face, implying she realized what had happened.
Though... A small part of Riyo realized just how selfish it was for her to ask that he not hide anything while she still kept everything tucked away.

Klyde was a little wide eyed at first as Riyo pushed him down on the bench. When she immediately wrapped her arms around his neck his eyes softened as he gently wrapped his arms around her waist. For a moment the day didn't seem so bad. He was still here with her and she was still here with him. No one else was around to divide their attention, no Blade no horrible new father. Just the two of them.
"You already make it better by just being there," Klyde said. "I can't ask more than that." Hugging her a little closer a hint of a smile crossed his face even as she touched the tender bruise on his cheek. "I'll do what it takes to stay by your side and to help you. I don't regret any of it." Though the grin suddenly became a little devious. "Though if you want to make me feel better I know of a few ways you could possibly do that." His voice was a little teasing hoping to lighten the mood, but if she took him seriously he wouldn't complain. He was a man after all. (lol)
