If you don't analyze it too much, Eragon is a good read

I'm not too big into fantasy, but you should definitely check out Dune by Frank Herbert. The series is kind of in between science fiction and fantasy. It's very good, though. A classic by today's standards.

I cannot stress enough: Dresden. The series will pull you in. The first book is called Storm Front by Jim Butcher. Who can deny classic Dragonlance? But, even if you do not read the above, you owe it to yourself as a human being to read The Night Angel Trilogy. The first one is called Into the Shadows, and they're by Brent Weeks. By far my new favorite series. Even if you don't quite feel the first part of Into the Shadows, stick with it. Once the story gets rolling, it doesn't stop.

Anything by Ed Greenwood (I.E. The Elminster series, the Knights of Myth Drannor, or anything else he's ever written, considering he did CREATE the entire Forgotten Realms mythos) The Sword of Shadows series by J.V. Jones (A far more mature kind of fantasy) The Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McAffery (It starts off sci-fi, but it quickly turns fantasy. It is also one of the longest running series in existence) If you haven't read any of those, you damn well better.

One word Dragonlance these books were started in the 80`s by two of the minds behind the company that made D&D. Margret Wies and Tracey Hickman are probably two of the best authors ever and everyone of their books is a treasure not to be missed. Start with Soulforged, you wont regret it wink

I think Dragonlance went down hill when they shifted to the new system/new world.

GLJordan I think Dragonlance went down hill when they shifted to the new system/new world. Ah u mean during the War of the Souls well, small spoilers, that only lasts till the end of those three books everything goes back to the way it used to be before after that. I dont like any of the books that were done by other authors for the series. Just not the same feel.

Well...Palin is there, Usha, Gold Moon, Dalamar, Caramon, Tika, Raistlin returns...thats all of them I think but its been a while since I read them. I think Steel is still there and Silvanoshi appears, Alhana and Porthios`s son.
