Pretty simple logic there, considering that records of any important even doesn't need to be kept all the time. has she really lived THAT long?

The historic Hieda no Are was around in late 700, early 800s. Counting Are as 0 (because, you know, rei), Aichi would have been around sometime around early to mid 900s depending on Are's DOD. Figuring that each incarnation after Are only lived a few decades (let's say 30 for the sake of it), since Are didn't get started on compiling the Kojiki until they were 28, they had to have lived longer then that. Let's estimate a death date in 854...

Are 7??-854
Aichi 954-984
Ani 1084-1114
Ami 1214-1244
Ayo 1344-1374
Ago 1474-1504
Amu 1604-1634
Anana 1734-1764
Aya 1864-1894
Akyuu 1994

Knowing that Aya's been the last one to see Gensokyo before it was sealed, this actually matches up pretty perfectly for Akyuu's birth. Of course, the earlier incarnations probably lived longer than 30 years, since it's suggested that the lifespan deteriorates with each incarnation, but screw it, this fits perfectly and I don't want to math around to find a way that the lifespan could decrease to 30 years from roughly 80, and still have the birth/death years match up perfectly.
