Soshi was popular in school and a lot of people made fun of him for joining the science club, but he doesn't really care what anyone thinks about him and he lost popularity when he made friends with Toshio, Eiko and tara (partly because they're "geeks" and partly because they're all younger than him). His best subject in school was biology and his parents had hoped he would become a doctor one day, so he doesn't have a good relationship with them, after ditching education for the band. He isn't closer to any band member than the others. He's relaxed about everything and it doesn't bother him that he's the only heterosexual in the band.
Soshi moved out of his parents' home shortly after leaving school, so as not to cause any more fighting with them and he now lives alone in a small apartment. He gets lonely easily though and can be found regularly at the other band members' homes bothering them when they're not working together anyway.
Aside from his fellow band members, he ends up being close friends with Hiro and Yuki, to whom he has a similar personality.
