Despite being the frontman of the band, Toshio is particularly reserved and would prefer to blend into the background. As the youngest of the group, he surprised Eiko, tara and Soshi in the school science club and proved himself worthy of being friends with the older students, although sometimes they make fun of him and treat him like a baby. His best subjects in school were physics and mathematics and his worst subject was (and still is) art.
When not travelling with the band, Toshio lives with his parents and older sister. He likes time alone, but rarely gets any because the other band members are always bothering him.
Despite his shyness, he has several sexual encounters with Yuki (and Rio) later, when Yuki is flattered upon discovering Toshio's crush on him.
