"Orihime?" A raven-haired Vice-Captain stood in the tent's entrance, arms crossed over her haori as she made to enter. A topaz-haired girl a bit taller than her was sitting by one of the beds, nonchalantly healing an injured shinigami whilst humming a little tune to herself. She cocked her head up to look at her friend.
"Hello, Kuchiki-san," she smiled.
"I wanted to stop by and see if-" A surprised look flew into her eyes as she blinked, uncrossing her arms and glancing at the number of shinigami asleep on their cots. "...-if...Hisana was...still out cold. How long have they all been asleep?" The two exchanged eyes, before quickly getting up and rushing over to the patient's bed. Her hair still sprawled out around her head on the mattress, and her bandages seemed stretched and worn from the amount of time that had passed.
"I would say about a good thirteen hours now," Orihime noted.
"Asleep? Surely not." Rukia reached out a hand to press gently against Hisana's forehead. She was cold, unmoving. "She is not asleep. Her mind seems to be in a state of unconsciousness, as if submerged much too deep into some sort of dream state." She looked up. "I stopped by the sixth Division to see if nii-sama was there earlier, possibly in the same state. I did not find him, but the third seat of his squad was asleep at her desk, more likely in the same state as everyone in this room." She was right. Everybody was deeply unconscious on the cots against the walls.
"Strange..." Orihime put a finger to her chin, thinking thoughtfully for a second or two. "Everybody? How is that even possible?"
"Well, we were not in the general vicinity after we saw everyone awake. Then we step back through the senkaimon, and everyone is out like a light." She exchanged a glance with her friend. "You don't think everyone in the Seireitei is like this, do you?"
"I am afraid to say yes..."
