"Lin?"

"Yes?"

"I'm tired."

Sigh. The two wyverns flew in a tight formation, wing to wing, perfectly matching each other's speed. The left wyvern was small, even by his specie's standards, with a pelt that looked like the nighttime sky. His larger companion to his right was a cloudy grey, with distinctive yellow markings along her back. They both sharply contrasted the blue sky above, with its soft, cottony clouds. It was a good day for foraging! They had already made several trips back to their cavern with everything ranging from cabbages to radishes and even a bean!

Needless to say, the two's wings were just about ready to fall off by this point, yet still Lin pushed onward. Celest wasn't nearly so zealous - "We have enough food to last the flight for a week!" He'd whined, but in the end he followed his flightmate back out into the Sparse Grasslands, his fear of being alone overwhelming him. Had Lin been of a more fierce disposition, she would've hightailed it and left the lagging male behind to fend for himself in the wild (or, more likely, fly home and whine to her about it later), but luckily she was a kind soul.

When Celest didn't receive a reply, he went back to scanning the ground below him. There was grass everywhere! Still, the two watched as they flew along, occasionally rolling over to check their backs for predators.

User ImageSwallows-the-Stars was foraging himself. Unfortunately, the poor little wyvern hadn't had much luck just yet. He'd been spending much of his time rooting around in the dirt, thinking he'd find all kinds of delicious bugs and roots and such. By the end of three full ours of snuffling around in the dirt, he'd found a single beetle... which he promptly ate, to restore the energy wasted by a long day of pointless digging.

The little wyvern eventually gave up the endeavor, heaving a huge sigh and flopping very dramatically onto the ground. He lounged there in a sad little heap, dark blues and bright yellows against the pale goldenrod colours of the dying grass. Maybe if he laid there long enough another bug would scuttle by.

The two continued to fly over the grasses, eyes peeled for any thing moving or out of place. All of a sudden, Celest gave a soft squeal and broke formation, stopping dead in mid-air. "LIN! LIN! There's something down there!" The larger of the two stopped as well, her beady black eyes wide with panic. Oh noes!

Oh, wait. It was just another wyvern. Though he didn't look like he was in the best shape, all curled up in a heap like that. She waited for a moment, thinking, and then finally began to descend from the sky. She couldn't just leave it here, especially if it was injured! She could hear Celest whining from up above, holding his ground. He'd come whenever he was ready.

Lin touched to the ground some distance from the mysterious wyvern, peeking above the grass to try and see him. "Hey! You, the orange and blue Wyvern in the grass. Are you okay?"
