Pluto

A small letter went out. Pluto was holding an assembly of sorts. Attendance was mandatory, barring some extreme personal event.
Once the crowd had finally gathered, the aged Leafeon stepped through the curtains to reveal himself. He spoke clearly and loudly above the quiet rumble of the crowd. "Attention, everyone!"
He immediately broke off into a slight coughing fit. It was minor by his standards; he was in surprisingly good health today. Or maybe he was just drugged?
"We'll be holding a Secret Santa event." The Leafeon made his announcement and gave it a moment to sink in before continuing. "Attendance is not mandatory but is encouraged. Anyone who signs up will be required to give a gift." The words had a slight edge, suggesting he wouldn't accept anything less.
"This is intended to be an event to draw the guild together. We ignore one another too often on both a personal and professional level. Gifts will be given personally on a face-to-face level. The address of your partner will be given along with his or her name."
He looked down from the small stage to the three desks. Dew, Nova and CaSoVi each sat (or floated) behind a large desk. Each desk was adorned with several sheets of simple paper and a few tethered pens. "Please sign up at the desks. State your team name along with your own for the records. In an effort to support spending, a small amount of PD will be granted to any teams that sign up. Teams that are extremely new to the guild make request additional funding, although they will be required to report their spending."
He cleared his throat loudly. "That is all. I hope that you will all take part in this event."

=================

The guild is hosting a Secret Santa! Sign-ups will be accepted until 8:00 PM EST, December 24th. You may sign up up to three of your characters (regardless of how many teams you have) for the event. If you wish to be simple about it, you may sign up your team as a single entity (but you will only give/receive one gift.)

Anyone who participates in the event will be granted a free 1,000 PD per participating character. Those members that have less than 2,000 PD before the boost may request additional PD to take them at high as an additional 3,000.
However, those that take extra PD must spend until they have at most their base value. (For example, someone who originally had 1000 must have at most 1000 after the event.)
If a recently completed mission or bounty takes you over the mark, then that will not be counted.

Items may be purchased or taken from your own stock. They can be personalized on a descriptive level if you wish. To sign up, simply post in the thread. Gift exchange will take place in the individual team rooms. Your character is expected to seek out their "giftee" and give it to them face-to-face. Think of it as a wonderfully (random) roleplay chance!

Tolin

Tolin listened to the speech with a mild interest. When the letter had stated "mandatory attendance", he had assumed it was something quite grave. However, this was nice. The guild rarely had cause for a celebration and an attempt to pull the members together on a social level was a wonderful idea. Tolin suspected that was the true cause behind the event; Pluto rarely gave much regard for the emotions of others when he spoke, but he understood the importance of morale and good social structure quite well.

"What the hell, it might be fun." Tolin stepped forward to the sheet and quickly wrote out his name. A small dribble of poison leaked from his scythe, dying the sheet with thin lines of deep purple as he stated his name and team.

After all. The end might be coming soon. What was life without a little fun?

Rev---&---Raziel

"Reeeeeev, what're we doing this for?" A voice whined as a new team entered the area.
They were known as Team Wicked Child.
"Life isn't all about beating other Pokemon to a pulp, Raziel..." An old voice replied.
The elder voice belonged to an odd looking Zangoose.
The younger, a rugged looking Cranidos.
"Celebrating this season has been a tradition since even your prehistoric ancestors were alive," The older Zangoose, Rev, explained.
Raziel crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.
"So basically, ever since you were a kid..." The Cranidos muttered.
This comment earned him a flick on the back of his head.
"Elders. Respect them," The old Zangoose growled.
Rev stepped forward, dipping one of his claws in a small bottle of black ink.
He scribbled his and Raziel's names onto the paper, along with their team name.
The Zangoose then cleared his raspy throat and stepped back.

| Rani |

Pluto didn't have to speak long before Rani shook her head in disgust and walked away.
"Forget that." she muttered. What a total waste. "I'd rather keep what we've earned,
thank you very much."

| Andrew ||| Claire |

Andrew growled after her. "You haven't earned anything." he almost shouted. And they had only
done what? ...two things while they've been in the guild? They hadn't exactly earned much
either. God, she was going to be fun to be for a long time.
Claire didn't pay any attention to the spoiled Nidoran, however, she was more focused on that
sheet of paper the leafeon had set down. "Let's go, you need to sign for me!"
The perk of having no hands. After waiting in line behind two new faces, they stepped up to the table
where the larvitar wrote their names quickly, not wanting the pokemon behind them not
have to feel like they waited too long.

The two partners then moved out of the way and waited to see
who else would step up out of simple curiosity.

Lilium && Katara

Lilium and Katara were the only ones that could come from the now smaller Team Azalea. Spade was off who-knows-where doing who-knows-what and Atra was simply draped over the couch in the Team room, refusing to come.

Lilium shook her head as she stepped forward, putting Atra's name down. He was doing this whether he wanted to or not; it was for his own good.

"And you Katara? Would you be interested dear?" Lilium asked the Ditto-Skarmory beside her, who hesitated before nodding.

"I guess." Truthfully she really had no idea what was going on, and Lilium suspected as much. The Cyndaquil would help the Ditto; gods knows that Katara needed a little more social interaction.

Crown

Crown sighed in relief as Pluto announced the Secret Santa. She had been afraid there was more fighting to be done. The Butterfree hovered over to Nova, and the two exchanged slight nods. Crown recognized the Roserade for when she and Chronicler had proposed their idea of recruiting Suicune to Pluto.

Crown hesitated a bit before putting down "Team Polaris". The Team was a wreck right now. Morana and Chronicler were still recovering from their brush with death, while Incultyr, Crescendo, and Acer were all being treated for what little of the very powerful poison that had managed to get into their systems. Crown was left to run the shop all by herself. She couldn't guarantee the presence of any member, so it would probably be better to put down the entire team.

Azra & Ketsueki

Suki floated in, just behind the sprinting Riolu. Azra, running on all fours, was quickly pulling away from her, and she had a funny feeling that she'd be wasting her time and energy, trying to keep up.
The Riolu had been very stubborn lately, much like the behavior of her brother. She didn't know what had gone on between Azra and her parents, but whatever had happened had twisted the little angel into a fireball of fury; at least when it came to her family. She just felt grateful that Azra hadn't snapped at the rest of them, as she had her mother and father.
"Azzie, come back here!" She called, worried that whatever this gathering of Pokemon might be, it would involve violence of some kind...
"It's just a Christmas thingy, Suki!" The Riolu complained, her voice a depressed whine as she returned to the Mismagius' side.
She clearly wasn't liking the idea of being practically chained to the Ghost's side, and Ketsueki could sympathize. Raven had asked her to keep Azra under a strict eye. Whether he was guilty, or over-concerned, Suki didn't know, but he was certainly going about this all wrong...
"...Well.... I guess it's alright." She allowed finally. "Go ahead and sign us up; just don't tell your parents, alright?"
Azra nodded, looking a little bit brighter and Suki smiled. Maybe this afternoon wouldn't be as bad as she thought.
"Team Stormcloud's Ketsueki and Azra Stormcloud!" She told the Chimecho behind the counter, looking very proud of herself for remembering.

User Image~Kyle

His team having received a letter asking for attendance just as everyone else; a certain churlish Flareon came bounding into the designated gathering area as a representative to his coworkers. As well as an attention span troubled canine could, Kyle signed up his team for the event. Though it was safe to assume from there that once again he'd be the one to actually fulfill the mission. Not wasting any time socializing at the event, the eeveelution was aching to get home and start deliberations on what the present he would be donating would be; this was undoubtedly going to be a long and carefully thought out process.

"I refuse! There's NO way I'll do this! It'll make me look soft! Dad always told me that a real man must never look soft! Bel whined, fighting his two partners as they drug him to the sign-in sheet.

Elly&Fon

Elly strained as she drug Bel to the sheet. Even with help, it wasn't easy. "I don't care; We need to get to know the other teams in the guild! Besides, you can meet girls this way!" Fon, meanwhile, took the opportunity and signed the sheet while Elly distracted Bel.

~Klash~ ~Knaw~

Klash entered the area with Knaw following behind obidiently. When her team had got the message about the event, Trev hadn't been very enthusiastic and decided to stay at the room. Klash had decided to bring Knaw along with her since he was eager to get out of the room anyway. Knaw didn't know what was going on, but was happily following the Zangoose regardless. She went up and signed the sheet, writing: "Team Without a Cause's Klash and Knaw".

Era & Ethfael

Era and Ethfael came to the meeting as representatives of the Team, curious to hear what Pluto had to say. The letter made it seem very important which kept them both slightly wary, but they answered the summons nonetheless. When they heard what Pluto had to say Era's eyes lit up with excitement. "A gift exchange!" she said eagerly, "This will be so much fun!" Always one eager to celebrate the holidays, Era had been disappointed that they had missed out on the Halloween celebration, so there was absolutely no way that she would miss out on the Guild's Christmas events. "Ethfael, let's sign up!"

Ethfael was slightly more reserved on the matter. He wasn't the greatest people person, and interactions with others were thus not his strong suit. There were a lot of Pokemon there, understandably considering that all the Teams were required to be there, but it was enough to make Ethfael uncertain that he really wanted to participate in this. Era seemed to be excited about it though, and he sighed, "Do you really want to?" he asked her.

"Yes!" Era said brightly, "Come on! Sereni will want to as well, even though she's not here." The Pichu hurried over to the closest table, her partner following behind. Era took a quill and signed the three names in elegant penmanship:

Team MistMelody
Era
Ethfael
Sereni

Smiling, she set the quill down and looked back at Ethfael, stepping away from the table to let the next Pokemon sign up. "It's all set," she told him, bubbling with excitement, "Now we just have to wait to see who we get!"

Reginald & Desdemona & Anastasia

When Anastasia heard the news, she clasped her paws together in girlish glee.
"This sounds like fun! We're going to do it, right?" She turned eagerly to her partners, eyes twinkling. Desdemona opened her mouth to say 'no' but took one look at the Meowth's shining eyes and sighed. "Fine, whatever. Reginald?" The two turned to the Poochyena who smiled.
"Of course. Why not?" He turned to the desk and put down their names.

Pluto & Minerva

Minerva slid out from behind the curtains to stand behind her husband. Evidently, she had been waiting in case he was too ill to complete his speech. "It's going well."
She looked at the crowd from the stage. They were getting quite a few sign-ups. Even though it was on something of short notice, it looked like there would be a good turn out.
Pluto gave a quiet nod. "It is. I hope it will help." The guild needed a stronger sense of unity. It needed it now more than ever. They were finally stepping onto the offensive, but they were missing leaders. Lots of them. Solaris was both removed and incompetent. Blade was on "vacation", according to reports. Lucy was often too busy at the hospital to take a leading role.
It wasn't that they needed someone within the members to step up and take command. That would only bring chaos. But a stronger sense of cohesion within the guild would make leading them much easier.
Hopefully, it would help them fight together a bit more as well. Fights would stop being each pokemon against the world; they would have friends.
Hopefully, should the gathering work seamlessly, each team would find at least two other teams as friends.
"So then, shall we go sign ourselves up?"
Minerva's question tore the Leafeon from the review of his own thoughts. Sign up? What?
His wife let on a sly smile, as if she had planned all that had happened and was yet to happen quite carefully. "This is an event to draw everyone together. But that isn't just the teams that have to be drawn together; they also need a strong leader to follow. We're hardly drawing the guild together if we don't participate ourselves." Her tail swished slightly behind her to accentuate the point.
Pluto looked dumbstruck quite briefly. Participate himself? He hadn't even considered it. He did not give gifts. He certainly didn't give them to random rescue teams he didn't even know.
But however much he disliked it, his wife was right. It was hardly a good show of trust and teamwork if he didn't act himself. He stared at Minerva for a good minute before finally breaking away his gaze and sighing, just barely.
"Fine. But you're helping with the gift."
Minerva let on a bright smile. "Of course."

User ImageUser Image
William & Lia

William hovered quietly without any particular indication of how he felt. In truth, he wasn't very anxious or nervous about the gathering. He had only spent a short time at the guild relative to so many; such a thing might be common, he thought. There was no reason to assume it was dangerous or that they were preparing for war.
And of course, he was quite happy with the idea. "Shall we sign up together, Lia?" He turned to the Azumarill standing beside him. She had come with him, although she already knew quite well what was going on.
"I'm not quite sure I can." She wasn't a guild member. She was part of Pluto's staff. "But I would be happy to help you if you did." She smiled warmly at the Togekiss and shuffled slightly closer to him.
William's face flushed very slightly. "Well... Well then, let's go sign up together." He shifted forwards through the crowd with the Azumarill just behind him letting out a soft, mirthful chuckle.

User Image
Puer

Puer put himself in the thing nearest to a line he could find. The progression wasn't exactly the most "orderly" thing. Taking down names and team names wasn't exactly a long process, so not that many people were falling into any kind of standard organization. He was in the line of his own volition, although a reason was one that had been given to him by a friend.

You rarely socialize. You should give it a chance sometime. Go out and have some fun; learn to be a bit more talkative. You would be surprised what you can learn and gain just by having a chat with a stranger on the street.

Puer didn't see the overt value that Tolin did, but he trusted the Scyther as he always did and always would.
So, he sat in line. For a while. He waited and waited until everyone else had signed up before he could finally go to the desk and state his name.

CelsusqwertImitiqwertChuck

Imiti looked at the rest of his team. "Well?"

Chuck was enthusiastic. Very enthusiastic. And that's by a six-year-old's standards.

"Eh. Sure, why not." In what was probably a momentary fit of stupidity, he added: "Chuck, why don't you sign us up?"

And so Chuck walked over to the desk, which happened to be taller than he was. After some difficulty, he managed to get the names required onto the registration sheet. Someone who was paying attention to him after that may or may not wonder what he was doing with that small pair of scissors, followed by where the Arceus he was going with that pen.

Imiti, who did happen to be watching the Charmander, put a hand over his face.

A small letter went out to each and every individual who signed up for the Secret Santa. Each one bore the name of it's recipient in eloquent yet somehow muted writing, as if the author was unwilling to show off any personal style.

Greetings participant! This letter has been sent to you to inform you of who your Secret Santa receiver will be. It is also to inform you of which group you are in. The groups are divided into Group A and Group B. If you're a part of group A, then you are expected to leave your team room at 10:00 sharp to track down your target and give them their gift. If you are a part of Group B, you are expected to do the same one hour later at 11:00 AM. This is in order to help cut down on traffic through the hallways as well as to ease a fairly large event. We hope this will make finding your gift partner (and having yours find you!) much easier.

Secret Santa Staff.

Attached to each letter came a small note. The gender and species of the gift partner, how long they had been in the guild along with their rank and their age. A small set of instructions on how to reach their team room was also attached.

You would have no way of knowing who was to give you a gift until they knocked on your door.

~~~~~~~~~
Well, just in case you didn't get that... When I sent you all your PM's, I identified which group your respective pokemon are in. If you're in Group A, that means your character goes to give their gift first. In you're in Group B, your character will first wait to receive their gift.
I didn't mention team names/player names because they're all listed in the opening post. Please check it if you don't know who the name belongs to!
There is no deadline for completing these roleplays, however it would be preferred if they could be completed by New Years or up to a week after. I understand that many people are busy with holiday festivities (by choice or otherwise) so please feel free to take your time. If, for whatever reason, you believe you have not the time to participate in the roleplay, then please make a single post of your characters leaving the gift at the doorstep of the team room.
If you need extra time, it's not a problem. It'd just be best if these didn't drag on for ye eons.
