Hmm, I'd have to go with Yuusuke vs. Jin, even though I'm not really a Jin fan, because they looked like they were having a lot of fun with it.

Hmm. Some of my favorite fights are:

Kurama VS. Roto--there was just so much intensity in that early fight, and I still have a LOT of questions about it. For instance, was Roto bluffing? Except for Hiei's comment afterwards that the demon brother died when he did (which is just stupid and illogical) I'd think he was. Also, it was interesting to see Kurama's reaction to Shiori being threatened . . . and how far was he willing to go to save her life? I could talk about this one for days.

Hiei VS. Zeru--come on, you knew this was coming. First time we see Dragon of the Darkness Flame? It freaking turned Zeru into a charred pancake on the stadium wall. What is NOT epic about that, especially given all the drama and acting that had gone into it before when Hiei was pretending (or WAS he?) to be outmatched?

Hiei and Kurama VS. Gottasibul(sp?)--what I really liked about this was seeing them working together as a group, and it was pretty dramatic due to Hiei's injury. Also, Kurama outwitted a super genius' robot--by using his knowledge of humanity, no freaking less.

Kuwabara VS. Risho--I love how there seems to be ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that our team could win, and yet we do. I mean Kuwabara is flat on his back injured, Risho is the team captain and unbelievably powerful, and yet Kuwabara turns it around in about 5.7 seconds with the power of love. If that isn't Crowning Moment of Heartwarming, I don't know what is.

ALL of the semi-finals, especially Kurama VS. Ura Urishima, Hiei VS. Kuromomotaru, and Genkai VS. the Beautiful Sazuka. Kurama's fight was amazing; enter, Yoko. Also, I KNEW that Ura's story was bs and I totally called it. Even KURAMA was (supposedly) tricked by that farce. Hiei's fight was interesting because I honestly didn't know how he could get out of it, and doing something as brilliant as harnessing his power in a broken sword is bad a**. And Genkai's fight was awesome because . . . hell, it's Genkai, and she beats the crap out of an egotistical clown. Mostly I like the semi-finals because there was a LOT of comic relief; despite the fact that it was a really tense part of the tournament, and Yusuke was undergoing a huge and emotional metamorphosis, they still made me laugh. A lot.

Kurama VS. Karasu--that's a given. I like the relationship there, and seeing Kurama actually lose his cool. Perhaps my favorite part was when the match was already over and I was watching with tears in my eyes, honestly believing Kurama was dead, and his finger twitched! He was alive! Halle-freaking-lujah!

Kuwabara VS. Elder Toguro--I don't like the action so much as the emotional payoff. First off, Elder Toguro is the scum of the goddamn earth, and I loved seeing him get pummelled, even though I now know that he technically survives (although he does get just desserts in the end.) Also, Kuwabara's raw emotion when hearing about Genkai, and in such a horrific way, really touched me.


Yeah. So that's like, what, half the battles? biggrin Sue me. It was an amazing arc (although surprisingly not my favorite.)

Genkai vs. anyone is pretty much epic. I really would've liked to see her fight when she was younger, though. :3 I remember when she was introduced, she mentioned something about being able to make tough guys wet their pants just by looking at them....

I know, right? She totally would've OWNED! Yoshihiro Togashi should write a partner series to YYH but involving Genkai and her youth and what-not. razz

Lol, that would be interesting. ^_^ Those flashbacks were intriguing weren't they?

Her fighting style aside, I'd like to see more about her as a character in those days ... I remember her graceful confidence that was almost smugness when Toguro complimented her when he spoke of their power fading ... she's such a cool character as an old woman, it really would have been nice to see more of her personality back then.

In that vein, I'd also like to see more of Yoko Kurama's day as the Spirit Fox, especially his bandit days with Yomi. THAT would make a great spin-off too!
