Prisca couldn't help a sigh of relief. Since she didn't know his tastes, she was worried he wouldn't like it. And she had really wanted to do something for him for thinking of her enough to pass along the piece of glass at the beach. Anyone else, she figured, would just throw it back in the water.

A blush crept up to her cheeks at his compliment, occupied by a smile of pleasure. She looked down at the shawl in her lap and started to fold it back up, more out of nervous fidgets than a wish to fold. "Yes, well....Everyone has that one talent. I like jewelery. It's good for sentiments and memories." With the article of clothing folded into a square that spanned the width of her legs together, she placed it on the table. Leaning back against the couch, she went back to her previous position of crossed legs and hands palm down on the cushion under her. "I'm glad you like it. You don't have to worry about breaking it. It's thick. I personally made sure that type of glass could withstand a lot. If the chain breaks, though, just bring it back. Fixing a chain only takes a few minutes."

The blush faded as Prisca looked back at Xero. The smile stayed on her lips. "After the excitement earlier, would you like anything?" Thinking back to their last meeting, when the roof had caved in around them, she wondered exactly what he did do for food. She assumed where he had teleported to was his house. It looked way too beaten down to even have electricity, let alone cook anything. Or store anything. There was more to their differences than background and personality, it seemed.

Luckily for Prisca Xero had not noticed the blush. His focus went back to the pendant as she spoke. She didn't have to say her passion was jewelry, it reflected in the quality of work she had done. Every little detail in his eyes were perfect. It made him wonder what he would be good at. The only answer to surface was fighting, destruction, and he dare not say anything about it. Not that it wasn't obvious already.

When she offered something to eat, at least that is what he gathered by 'anything', his focus returned to her. Water sounded nice about now, perhaps some berries?
"Water would be nice, if you please...." He settled on just that. Nothing else seemed appropriate and he did not feel right just taking her food.

Xero rose from the couch fully expecting to have to go outside and find a fresh water spring as he had every day since he had arrived. It was true his house had no water, electricity, or any of the sort. It was as it looked, abandon. For food, water, and the occasional bath Xero went out and found his own fresh water spring, small stream, and or berry bush depending on his needs. Occasionally he had meat, but that was quite rare.

Oblivious of what he thought was going to happen next, the woman rose from the couch and went behind it to where the kitchen stood. She filled up a tall glass from the tap and set it down on the table with a smile. His thinking they would have to go outside for this was reasonable. Though she managed to get electric heating instead of the typical stove in the basement most houses outside the city seemed to have, her water did come from a spring.

In the middle of the table sat a plate of cookies under a clear, glass lid. Behind her on the counter were two more. One with little squares and the other with round sweets. Having the sweet tooth Prisca did, she always liked to have something home baked in easy reach. With her full attention on Xero, she ignored all three.

"Only water?" she asked, wanting to make sure. From earlier, she was beginning to learn he was reluctant to accept any kind of help.

Xero followed Prisca with his eyes before moving himself around the couch and joining her in the kitchen. His feet carried him quite quietly across the floor. In fact it was hard to notice his presence without the natural connection the two shared.

His tail flicked as he let his eyes wonder about the kitchen. He was quick to take notes of the cookies and other various sweets. The cookies more so because he recognized what they were. Trinity had brought them on occasion for the other scientists in the lab. Everyone seemed to enjoy them. She had promised him some as soon as he was able to survive outside of the tank. Obviously that had never come to pass.

When Prisca spoke his attention immediately returned to her. He looked from the glass back to Prisca. Of course she would not have him go outside to find a drink. He felt silly for every thinking such a thing.
"Yes, thank you..."

He approached the table cautiously than took the glass. The refreshment was most welcome. He had not realized how dry his throat had become until after a few sips.

Prisca watched him for a moment, still worried about his well-being after that fall. If it was enough to make such a loud noise from where she was, he must have been high. Thinking back on her last time in the air, she wouldn't be surprised. They had been way too high for her comfort. Not that it took a lot to make her nervous about heights.

A flush of embarrassed at her actions that day made her turn her head away from Xero before he could see. She would constantly make a fool of herself. Well, at least he never seen her fall earlier. A Mewtwo afraid of heights was one thing. One who didn't even take advantage of the powers to safely pass over ice or even carry her bags was another.

The small blush crept away as her eyes settled on the plate on the table. That had been her first time ever making cookies. She had planned on taking them with her when she attended a Christmas party yesterday, but had decided last minute she didn't feel like it. The night before, she had stayed up too long after being woken by that strange feeling in the back of her mind.

Stepping closer to the middle of the table, Prisca laid one hand on the smooth surface. Her eyes drifted back to Xero. "You should probably eat something, though," she told him, the concern over him evident in her voice and in her eyes. "To fully get your strength back up. Even I heard it. I hear something sweet helps for a quick boost. And I'm not sure about trying these." She gestured with her eyes to the covered plate in front of her. "I never intended on even taking one. Peanut butter was never a real favorite of mine."

After the first few sips Xero quickly finished up the rest of the glass. He felt much better now. At least his throat wasn't dry anymore. When his gaze returned to Prisca she had just recovered from her turn away and the blush had already faded from her face.

"....really?" Ironically Peanut-butter cookies were the same kind of cookies Trinity brought with her when she returned from her short sleep and recreation breaks. Occasionally. "....My mother always told me the same...."

His curiosity for the moment was stronger than his reluctance to her help. Slowly he approached the table. He didn't have to lean much to reach the plate at the center. With his right hand he lifted the glass cover enough so his left hand was able to slip one cookie from the plate. He than gently let the glass cover down and inspected the cookie. It would seem odd to one, over a hundred years and he now finally gets to try a cookie.

Behind, his tail twitched curiously as he took a small bite. Heaven! He could see why Trinity always made this kind. It was sweet, very sweet. Xero had never had anything so sweet before. He couldn't hide his approval for the small treat. His face seemed to light up at the second bite. There was no smile still, but it was obvious he was enjoying it a great deal.

"This is good." He paused from the cookie and looked back at Prisca. The tip of his tail was contently swaying behind him in a small circle.

"Your mother?" she couldn't help asking, instantly wishing she hadn't. But she couldn't help it. Though she saw the scientist behind her creation as a father figure, she never called him her father. For all her high family ties. That wasn't the first time she had heard Xero refer to the people behind their creations as parental figures. It was a nice look into the person beneath the mask. Into the kinder soul she knew to be there.

Thinking back again on their last meeting, she made a guess at the kind female voice from Xero's memory leak. She must be the one he called 'mother.' Made her all the more curious about his past. There had been at least one person who cared more for him than what he could do. That was good, at least. Made her a little sad how even one brought into a family setting only had one extra person to call family than one brought into a completely different atmosphere.

Unconsciously, her fingers brushed the locket at her throat before settling back down with her other on the table.

The woman brightened up more at the compliment, giving him a huge smile. "Thank you. I was going to take them with me to a party. Nice to know they won't go to spoil." She paused in her speech to take the glass, holding it before her instead of putting it in the sink. "If you want to take them with you, that is. Like I said, I'm not fond of peanut butter. Shame to throw them away."

Turning around, she filled the glass back up and set it down on the table in case he should need more.

"Trinity... She was in charge of my survival." Xero looked back at his half eaten cookie. If only he could have protected her as she had him. "...She was a kind soul like yourself...." He added as he looked back to Prisca just in time to see her fidget with the locket. She was lucky to have a tangible memory of her family.

"I could keep them?..."
His tail flicked at her offer. It was tempting. There was only one problem with it, where to store them? His house wasn't in the best of condition, least of all to be storing food.

"...Th-" He couldn't finish his sentence before something outside had caught his attention. His eyes flashed a bright blue as he turned his head. Seconds later, as Prisca set the water glass back on the table, the area around him distorted and he was gone.

Prisca jumped as she usually did when a Teleport was done in her presence. It never helped that all of those Teleports were unexpected. One minute, you're enjoying a nice chat and the next, before you can react, they vanish! This time, she didn't think she had said anything wrong. In fact, she was sure she didn't. Unlike their last meeting, he showed no signs of being bothered by something.

Shrugging her shoulders, Prisca left everything on the table to turn around and grab one of the round sweets. Taking a bite, she gazed out of her kitchen window as she chewed on it. A few drifts of snow fell from the sky, making her turn her face away from the window. She didn't like snow. It was too cold. Much too cold for her usual style of dress.

Her eyes fell back on the plate on the table. Smiling, she popped the rest of the sweet in her mouth. "The girls would like you."
