"Kind of difficult to remember things like that, isn't it?" Shinunai replied with a knowing half-smile. "I imagine you're probably lonely...I know I am. Would you like to be friends?" Her nervousness was disappearing. He was pretty obviously not a malicious sort of ghost.

"Hmmm...Sure." he chuckled and ruffled the strange one's head.

"Alright, then," she said, feeling cheered for the first time since her being-change. "We'll do that."
((fin? or continue?))

"So what do ya remember anyway?" the ghostly male asked. LEading her gently around the trail.

"From before, or after?" She thought about it a moment before replying. "I suppose life was just normal before we ended up in...whatever this place is. I still don't know what this place is, you know? It's just so strange. And once I got here, my friend was gonna die, and I didn't wanna be a zombie, but I had to, to save him, and..." It all tumbled out so quickly that she began to suppose she wasn't making a whole lot of sense. "And it hurt, and I ran, 'cuz that's what my body told me to do, I guess, and now...here I am." She had a bit of a battle to recapture her emotional balance. "That being...that changed me...it was wierd, too."

"I guess... You can remember more stuff than me." the ghost replied. Gently prodding her side gently with his nuzzle, feeling her coolness, yet a strange warmth on her. His touch however was cold and chilly. "Guess being...kinda alive counts eh?"

"I would say it's better than nothing." The coldness of his touch felt strange (when one was used to touching live things) but not terrifically unpleasant. "I haven't met anyone quite like you before. Have you seen another like me?" She was curious to know if she'd been the only one zombified.

"No...not one yet." he replied with a soft chuckle and smile. "no other undead...or remotely dead...or half living.... sort of."

Shinu's head tilted in amusement at how many ways someone could say that. She smirked.
"I wonder what's going to happen next..." she heard herself saying. "I'd certainly like to find out more about this world, and if there's any way to get back to the one we belong in. Though after all that..." she shook her head. "I don't know if there's anything left for me there any more. Maybe not for any of us."

"You know...." her head tilted slightly. "...I think we can." Shinunai seemed to brighten, as much as her mangled features would allow her to show it. Perhaps they could find a new life. She certainly preferred to hope so. "It won't be quite the usual, but I suspect...it might even be better."

Shinunai had to smile at that. It looked a strange, deformed, twisted sort of smile because of her face, but the feeling behind it was full. A friend at last - and this one, she thought wryly, would be difficult to lose. "Well, Your Invisibleness," she said in an attempt at humor, "I don't know how well I'll be able to keep track of you, but if you don't mind me getting lost every now and then, I don't see why not." Her fleshless tail wagged carefully. She was forever afraid of flinging bones off the end of it, though she wasn't sure whether that was possible. "Haha. Yes. I'd love to."
