In a small clearing in the thickly settled forest a small wolf was leaping in the air trying to catch the fireflies. His body sprang into the air and his mouth snapped shut with no luck. Gavin sat down and looked up at the small group of fireflies that were blinking in the air above his head. Fireflies were boring to Gavin; they didn’t put up a good chase or fly away in fear. He preferred rabbits and chipmunks and squirrels. They always put up a good chase, running fast and darting in small holes and up trees. They were fun to chase; he could sense their fear as they ran for their lives. Though now it was sometime in the night and all the little normal animals were asleep in their homes. Gavin watched, his tail swishing, as a firefly came closer. He sprang up and clasped his mouth around the insect. He could feel it flying around in his mouth. Gavin opened his mouth and stuck out his tongue. The insect, which was on the tip of his tongue, flew away back to the group.

Crouching down, Gavin was ready to pounce again when a piercing sound penetrated his ears. It was that sort of high pitched sound that humans made when they used a dog whistle. What is that? Gavin wondered. He’d never heard it before. Being the curious being that he was, Gavin started to make his way in the direction where the sound had come from. He walked cautiously not know how far away this thing was. A few moments later he heard a familiar sound. The sound of another wolf howling. Gavin quickened his pace running to where it came from. As he got closer he heard a girl talking. Creeping a glance from between some bushes, Gavin saw a little girl petting the wolf. This girl had a strange sent to her, one he was told about once. A vampire. Gavin never saw one up close before. He looked to the huge wolf, he smelled familiar. Gavin had smelled his scent in the forest before. He watched as he let this little vampire girl actually pet him, like he was some house pet. Gavin snorted in disgust. Some wolf he was, letting a vampire pet him. He could easily take her down, she was tiny. Gavin considered pouncing out, but decided it would be best to lay low for a while. He crouched in the bushes to try and stay out of sight.

_______________Lilith_______________
I was a heavy heart to carry
My beloved was weighed down
My arms around his neck
My fingers laced to crown.

I was a heavy heart to carry
My feet dragged across ground
And he took me to the river

Where he slowly let me drown

I'm so heavy...heavy...heavy in your arms...
Fire. The red death dreaded by all the cold ones. Someone was screaming: Fire. Lilith was unable to see. Even in the dark, Lilith was unable to see. Something was compressing her ears; she couldn't create a mental map of her surroundings. A deaf bat was a blind bat, and Lilith could scarcely hear. Scrambling around with her hands to feel her environment, Lilith discovered that she was concealed within a box. A wooden coffin to be exact. Beyond that Lilith was blind, and in banging on the underside of the coffin Lilith sent out a telepathic message as loudly as she was able to muster. A panic overtaking her heart. ' ' Aide!!! Je suis contenu dans un cercueil!!! ' '

' '
Help!' ' Torn from her dreams, Lilith's eyes snapped awake at a framiliar voice penetrating her mind.

An image of a large brown wolf flashed into Lilith's mind and the same terror from her dream began to course through her veins. Reaching her left hand towards a latch on the inside of her own coffin-like bed, Lilith's fingers pricked the hatch open and a spring began to slowly force the lid to open. Too impatient to wait, Lilith pushed the lid until a small 'click' sound indicated that the door was open. wearing only a thin toe-length gown of silvery-white silk, Lilith banged on Laurent's coffin in the hopes of stirring her brother awake before pulling on a wooden lever build into the concrete wall beside her. A click and a series of tappings sounded from within the wall with the same mechanical rotation as a music box. As the song continued, a hidden door began to pull open to reveal a cellar belonging to the little castle on the hill.

Racing her silent feet up the four flights of stairs leading to a 'suppossed' closet door in the foyer, Lilith nearly tore open the door in her worry before spilling out into the grand entryway. Glancing a quick survey of the room, Lilith smelt the framiliar odors of dust and mold; indicating that few or none had been within the house amidst her six months of rest. Allowing her nose to trace the heavy remainder of Lavender's scent to the front door, Lilith tore her hand at the knob of the large entrance door and danced her quick little feet down the copious steps leading down from the door. The crisp night air warmed her frosty skin to a subtle grey as the moonlight glistened her silvery-white hair into luscious tresses. Her pace increasing into a run as she stretched her aura far from her body and felt the vibrations of sound within her invisable bubble; her night-eyes searching for Lavender.

' '
Where are you Lavender? ' ' Retracing all the lines of the image that had flashed into her brain earlier of a large brown wolf; Lilith now thought of the trees surrounding the wild beast, the rocks and the clouds in the sky. Tilting her neck, Lilith tilt her face towards the heavens and studied the clouds in the sky. Seeing the pattern of clouds gently drifting by, Lilith felt the breeze against her unclothed arms and determined Lavender's approximate location. Running just left of the direction the clouds were now drifting towards, she ignored the earth and moss gripping the bottom of her feet as she nearly floated across the land through the trees. Assured that she would reach her destination in no fewer than four minutes at the most. May I not be too late...

All this killing time?
Are you strong enough to stand
Protecting both your heart and mine?

Who is the betrayer?
Who's the killer in the crowd?
The one who creeps in corridors

And doesn't make a sound

Vince walked through the forest, having spent the day under the cover of a nearby cave. He saw an abandoned castle in the distance, and quite pleasing to him, the fact he needed a place to stay.

Gettin' old it's time for something real,
Don't respect the words you're speaking,
Gone too far.
