My story...It's not as amusing. It was 2002 I think. I was at Barnes and Nobles, looking for the new volume of Ceres Celestial Legend. I think that was the only manga series I owned at the time. Anyway, I couldn't find the new vol. I didn't want to leave without anything, so I looked for a new series. The title Dragon Knights caught my eye. The cover art looked cool but it didn't grab me. So I read the back. It sounded pretty amusing. I bought vol 1 and 2. I read them and LOVE IT! The crossdressing was just too funny and the characters were just so cool! Needless to say I was hooked.

When I went to school, I walked up to my friends named who each of them were (we like to claim characters or pick ones most like us). They of course had no clue as to what I was talking about until I gave them Dragon Knights and demanded them to read it.

Tee-hee, randomly posting!

How I started reading Dragon Knights: I remember it like it was yesterday... I was in summer camp, I believe it was the summer before seventh grade... I barely knew what anime was and had never heard of manga before, but some other girls I met after striking up a coversation over a Spirited Away shirt happened to have brought some manga with them. It just so happened that on of them was Dragon Knights volume 14. XD We read it aloud and acted out as several of the characters. There was only four of us, so I was Thatz, Kitchel, Delte, and Meteaura. XP From then on I was hooked and when I got home I immediately went out to buy the volumes myself and read the rest of it.

Ha... Back in the day...

I'd walk down to the local comic book store every other week or so to check what new serialized Gundam Wing comics they'd gotten in (back before companies got into the whole graphic novel thing hardcore), and always near it on the shelf was this Dragon Knights. The cover art was pretty, and finally one day on a whim I decided to buy the first issue. I thought it was funny, so I ended up buying all 5 as they came out. Then, one day, I was browsing in the store when I came across the whole thing... in book form! I debated, since I already had them all in comic size, but couldn't resist and ended up taking it home, where I realized there was this number '1' on the side...

I was in the comic store buying some pokemon cards and getting a poster when I looked over a noticed "Dragon Knights". My Chinese zodiac being the Dragon it drew my attention. So I got it, and got the other 5. Then they finally released the manga. And I got them all.. xD

Hehe, (finally gets around to revealing how she got hooked) mrgreen Well, it was 10th grade for me and I was just getting into manga. My best friend in high school was more of a freak than I was so she actually bought DK vol 1 and shared it with me. I found this odd and very funny because I enjoyed it more than her, since she liked dark gothic bloody mind-torturing manga/anime sweatdrop (needless to say she adored DK after volume 12-Alfeegi-sobs) crying She gave me her volume as a gift and kept on visiting the bookstore and buying the volumes (and then ordering them since the bookstore stopped stocking them after a year or more). I like comedy and insane action so I loved the first 3 DK volumes, so by the time the plot and angst rolled around I didn't mind because I had developed a major Rath obsession soon to be followed by a Kharl obsession in DK volumes 9 and 12.

Dragon Knights was the first manga series I ever read and is still my favorite to this day^w~

Now...if only Tokyopop would get off their butts, stop licensing stupid magical girl shoujo manga and license Mineko Ohkami's other works... stressed
