She was sure that was where he would lead things. It wasn’t safe to do anything anymore. All because they refused to call the cops and now they all felt they were in too deep. Skylar really didn’t care if it was dangerous. There was no way she was going to die without seeing her dad. At the moment, it may sound silly, but dying seemed like something that was too trivial to happen at the moment. It wasn’t that she felt invincible. It was that her will power wasn’t going to let her die at this point in her life. No, she would fight it till her last breath.
Before she could gather Cailen’s reaction, Adam made his way over to the two of them. What was worse about that was that he was holding guns. What the hell was he thinking? Skylar had an absolute hatred for guns. Seeing one of her closest friends holding not only but two was unthinkable. The one thing she knew for sure was that she didn’t like it. And to top it off, Adam was trying to hand one to Cailen. What were they now? Killers? ’Like hell’ Skylar couldn’t stop the thought from entering her mind and she didn’t see why she should. She was already in a bad mood and everything that was going on, although she was sure it was unintentional, was making it worse.
Through her anger, Skylar did notice that something was wrong with Adam. He didn’t look right. She would have said something but then he started talking. Something about a boat being ready. ’What boat? I’m not getting on a boat. I need to get home.’ She watched a bit shocked as Adam cocked the gun and aimed it. ’Is he seriously going to – The sound of the gun being fired caused Skylar to jump slightly. ’God, I f***ing hate guns!’ She couldn’t take her eyes off of Adam as he seemed to just casually walk away. Skylar could no longer remain silent.
”Cailen, I have no idea what ‘boat’ is ready but I’m not going to be on it. I can’t do this. This whole situation is insane. I’m going home even if that means I have to walk.” She knew her voice was a tad louder than her normal volume. She wouldn’t be surprised if Adam heard it as he walked back to the cabin. She didn’t care if he did or not. Looking at Cailen’s face, the need to apologize to him filled her entire body. She wouldn’t apologize for what she was going to do but she wanted to apologize for hurting him, if she did in some way.
Taking one last look at Cailen’s face, Skylar turned around before she would allow herself to cry. ’What the hell are you doing? Don’t cry.’ And she actually listened to herself that time. What she wouldn’t give to run into Cailen’s arms and have him say that he would take her to her dad, that he would be there for her but she knew it wouldn’t happen. He had to be there with everyone else. To protect Bella, just like Jack would do. And with that, Skylar started to walk away from the cabin, at a fairly brisk pace.
(….skylar….skylar…skylar …. *shakes head*)

xxxxxxxx a l i c e ♔ h u m p h r e yxxxxxxxxxxxxxxit feels like forsaking the dawn, we awaken and still we don't see; I am still secretly grateful you're living this moment with me So many emotions flooded her that Alice wasn't able to feel any of them at all. She was unable to even move from her current position, just hoping that at any moment she was going to wake up in her apartment and everything that had transpired would just have been a horrid nightmare. She hardly noticed Adam's attempts to comfort her; so fixated on the notion that at any second she was going to hear her alarm clock ring. "Don‘t worry Ally…We‘ll stop her. We‘ll find her, and stop her. She just wants to know if we‘re here…so she can come here and…and shoot us. She wont really kill your dad. She wants to kill me." Alice registered the words he was speaking in her mind but wasn't able to muster a response. Alice wanted to inform Adam that he had no idea what the woman wanted; he had no idea if Alexis wasn't planning on killing everyone - including her dad.
When Alice snapped herself back to the present moment she saw that Adam was now in a hurry and it seemed as if he was trying to get everyone out of the lakehouse, including her. Like hell I'm going anywhere. My dad is the one being held hostage. Like hell am I going to run from her this time. She watched as Adam scurried about trying to get everything together, up until he disappeared into the master bedroom. Alice waited until he was finished whatever he was doing - figuring that it would be best not to poke her nose in there. She waited for him to rush outside so that he could round up Skylar and Cailen, not even noticing the fact that he was carrying guns as he brushed past her.
She entered the bedroom to retrieve her blood-stained sweater. Completely ignoring its state, she flung it over her shoulders and wrapped it around her body, poking her arms through. Alice took another look around the room; that was all she had with her. With that she exited the bedroom and walked back in the direction where she had come. Something was different this time - there was a small handgun on the table. Without giving much thought to where it had come from, Alice quickly snatched it up, figuring that it would be something that might come in handy later. She'd never actually been in such close proximity to guns prior to the day before, and she'd most certainly never had any practice shooting at anything. No... not the gun. Alice placed the gun back down on the table and just glared at it. She didn't expect to be so off-put by an object but after her altercation with Alexis... Alice wasn't sure that she could even fire the gun. Something about knowing how it felt to have a bullet pierce through her flesh would make it that much harder to pull the trigger. Besides, if Alexis brought along her father, there was no way that she wanted him to see her firing a gun at anyone.
"We should have called the police... none of this would have happened if we'd just called the damn police," Alice scolded herself for not making the call the night before when she had wanted to do so. If she had just been smart and gotten the police involved then nothing would have happened to her father. Alice found her gaze averting from the gun over to the telephone that just delivered the horrifying message that had just be received. It wasn't too late to call them now.... Without hesitation, now that someone from her family was involved (that Alice felt was entirely her fault for letting it happen), Alice picked up the phone and dialed three numbers.
Frantically Alice explained the abridged version of everything that was going on to the dispatcher on the other line. Spewing the words from her mouth gave the situation an entire new sensation of realism for her. A sickness grew in her stomach, realizing that there was a possibility her father was already dead and that Alexis was going to finish the rest of them off before the police had the chance to arrive. They were quite far out from the city.
Once the conversation ended and Alice was assured that someone was being sent out to her location another shot could be heard, this time coming from outside of the house. No! It's too late! Her thoughts barely had the chance to form before her feet flung themselves forward out of the front door and out to where the sound had come from. Thankfully, all she saw was a piece of bark on the ground and Adam still holding up a gun in the air, presumably taking a practice shot at the tree.
"Adam! What the hell!?" Alice called out in panicked confusion. Although it only took her frazzled mind a few moments to realize what he was up to. He wasn't going to be on the boat along with Harrison and the others. He thought that he was going to handle this situation himself. Dammit... just let the police deal with this.... At that moment Alice wasn't entirely sure what had come over her. All she knew was that the group handling the problem themselves hadn't worked out in anyone's favor at the current point in time, in fact, it had endangered the life of Alice's own father. Without having the chance to second guess her actions, Alice walked over to Adam's side and pulled the gun straight from his hand, causing it to accidentally go off and shoot down at the ground right next to both of their feet. The sound of the shot at such close proximity startled Alice and she flung the gun straight out of her hands and onto the ground. "What the hell do you think you're going to do, Adam? Take care of this yourself? Have you even fired a gun before right now? My dad could be killed because we thought we could handle this. I called the police, so stop trying to be the damn hero here and let them handle it, please?" Alice's voice was filled with anger (even if it wasn't exactly directed at Adam and moreso at the fact Alexis had her father) so the "please" at the end seemed a touch out of place. She could feel her hands shaking - not only that, but her entire body as well.
outofcharacter: so, I was thinking since they're way out in middle of nowhere or something that it could take the police forever to get there, perhaps all of the action has already happened.

Cailen Legosi When Skylar refused to go inside with him, Cailen was truly shocked. He was almost certain that she would agree with him, even if she didn’t want to, and would follow him inside. It was usually what Skylar did, and for her to disagree with him was something new. Cailen was taken aback from her statement and had to make sure he actually heard it right. Then she went on to explain how she wanted to go see her dad. It made sense to him why she would want to see him. Even though it’s only been a day, it seems like it has been forever since Cailen knew what was going on outside of his own problems. I wonder if mom is worried about me or Bella. He figured she had no clue since he has always been pretty distant from his mother, only seeing her maybe once or twice a week.
It took a few moments for Cailen to think about what he was going to do. He really wanted Skylar to be able to go home and be with her dad, he would even be willing to take her there, but he didn’t think it would be a good idea. Harrison probably already called Alexis and she was most likely on her way. If the group became separated who knows what could happen. Alexis could use that to her advantage. Plus they all had a better chance to fight if they were together; and Cailen wasn’t about to leave Adam alone to do Harrison’s wishes. Right now, leaving would just be too dangerous, for all of them. He wanted to explain that to Skylar, and hopefully convince her to stay just until things blew over, but he didn’t know what to say. To save him, he saw Adam exist the cabin and make his way over to them.
Cailen immediately noticed something wrong with Adam. Did something happen while I was gone? He wanted to ask him, but suddenly realized Adam was trying to hand him one of the guns he was carrying. He was reluctant to take it from him, not really trusting himself with a gun, but he took it and held it down by his side. Cailen knew what Adam meant when he said the boat was ready. He gulped as the moment of truth was coming closer. It was now do or die and he really hoped that it wasn’t die. He knew Alexis was definitely on her way now and that Skylar had to get on the boat with the others. Before any of them could move, Cailen watched curiously as Adam aimed and shot at the tree. It surprised him that Adam actually shot the gun and Cailen could only hope that his aim would be as good as Adam’s.
As Adam walked away, Skylar once again shocked him by refusing to go on the boat. Why is she being like this? Cailen was stuck there for a moment as he watched Adam walk away in one direction, and Skylar in another. He didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t leave Adam to deal with Alexis alone, but there was no way he was letting Skylar walk all the way home all by herself. Before he could make up his mind, he heard Alice yelling at Adam. Cailen jumped and immediately whipped his head around to see what happened when he heard the gun go off. Thankfully, once again it was just a misfire and no one got hurt. He listened to Alice rant about Adam trying to handle this himself, but when she mentioned her dad being killed, it really took Cailen by surprise. What does she mean by that? He was also shocked when she said that she called the police. She was right, maybe they should let them handle the situation.
Things were already getting too far out of control for him to handle. Calling the police should have been something that they did a long time ago, preferably when Skylar mentioned it back at the mall parking lot. Maybe now that the police were involved, Skylar would stick around a bit longer. Once they get here, which is hopefully soon, things will all be sorted out and I can take her home. With that thought, Cailen turned around to talk to Skylar. She was a ways away, but he hoped that the gun shot at least slowed her down, maybe she even heard Alice say she called the police. Wanting to make sure, Cailen ran after her, catching up pretty quickly. “Skylar wait. Please Skylar, don’t go yet.” He wondered why he even bothered asking her. If he really wanted, he could easily hold her back from leaving.
“I don’t know if you heard, but Alice called the police. They are on their way and they are going to fix everything. I know you want to go home, but please just wait until they get here and we sort everything out.” Cailen hoped begging would be enough to keep her from going anywhere, but just in case, he felt the need to continue on. “I know it was your idea to call the police in the first place, and I’m sorry that I didn’t back you up on it. It was the right thing to do. If I just listened then you would probably be back home with your dad.” He could help but wonder what else might have happened, or not happened, if they got the police involved a lot earlier. Maybe his relationship with Alice wouldn’t be where it was now.
“I promise, once everything we get everything all sorted out and are out of danger, I will personally be the one to drive you home, but until then, I think its best we all wait at the cabin until the police arrive. It is way too dangerous for you to be walking the streets alone. Alexis is on her way and if she finds you, who knows what will happen. Plus, home is a long ways away from here and driving would probably be faster.” Wanting to fully get his point across that he wasn’t going to let her leave, he reached out and grabbed her hand. “Please Skylar, please stay. I couldn’t live with myself if I let you walk away and something happened to you.” With pleading eyes, Cailen really hoped that she wouldn’t leave. He didn’t purposely mean to guilt her into staying, it was just truly what he was thinking. I tried to give her everything That she was searching for But she wanted more More than she could find in my arms More than my world, more than this little town I wonder if she found it

She was leaving the group and they would all stick together through this. She couldn’t do it with them. It almost made her feel weak in a way. She didn’t want to feel this way. More than anything, Skylar hated feeling weak. The past 24 hours she had to deal with this feeling too much. Going home would help. That was what she told herself over and over. Really, it was what was keeping her legs moving. She didn’t want anyone who may be looking at her see her falter in her decision. She would hold strong to it.
It wasn’t hard to hear Alice as she came out and yelled at Adam. Skylar really wished she could have talked to Alice. It would have been nice to speak her mind on everything with her best friend right there listening. But Alice had other things to worry about then Skylar. It was completely understandable. A sudden thought occurred to Skylar as she walked. What if she never saw these people again? It wasn’t her thinking that they would die. No, she was simply thinking that their paths would never cross after this. Once Skylar went home, that was the end of her involvement with this group. She had to accept it. They would be much happier without her there making everything worse.
The gun shot surprised her. Skylar even stopped and took a moment to make sure no one had been injured after the shot before she continued to walk. It wasn’t long until she heard footsteps coming up on her quickly. Then his voice called to her and it was enough to make her stop. Could she turn around and face him? She wasn’t sure if that would mean that she would give up on her idea. She didn’t want to. She wanted to stay strong, no matter what Cailen had to say. He was just being nice after all…like Jack was being nice. Cailen was a nice guy. He didn’t want to see anyone get hurt. Of course, Skylar was almost certain she wouldn’t be hurt.
Skylar stayed silent as Cailen tried to convince her into going back with him. The police had been called. Well that was a good thing. She couldn’t help but mentally agree with Cailen when he said they should have done so when she suggested. So many things could have been avoided if it did happen. But that was the past now. There was nothing they could do to change it. All they could do was live with the consequences. She felt pretty confident that she would stick with her decision. She had an argument for everything that Cailen was saying. However, that was before he grabbed her hand.
Feeling that hand contact, shot through Skylar’s whole body. She instantly froze and couldn’t look at him. Almost instantly, tears started to fill her eyes. ’Of course I start crying’ Once Cailen’s hand met hers she knew that she couldn’t leave, even if she wanted to. Looking up at Cailen, Skylar knew her eyes were filled with tears. Before she knew what she was doing, Skylar wrapped her arms around Cailen, practically falling into him, hiding her head in his shoulder.
”I just can’t do this.” She knew her voice was shaking. There was nothing she could do to stop that either. ”I don’t want this to be my last memory. I don’t want them to be there like that. I want something good before it’s too late.” In the back of her mind, Skylar knew that all she was saying to Cailen must should like gibberish. None of her sentences where making much sense. She was probably putting too much on him. How could she do that? Cailen had his own problems. She had to explain though, even if he wouldn’t understand. ”I’m worried I’m not going to remember his face. That’s why I need to see him. She told me that I mean nothing. She wouldn’t waste her time with me. It would be a waste of a bullet.” She stopped there. She couldn’t continue talking. She wouldn’t blame Cailen if he just ignored her. He shouldn’t have to deal with her.

┏Tony Rizzo┓I wanna get psycho!

With the window cracked slightly, he could hear the entire conversation between the group of kids. He didn't much care, until Alice came out and abruptly stated that she had called the police. Tony gulped and rolled his window up immediately and pulled out his phone, but not before revving up the engine and speeding to make a quick getaway. As the engine roared and the wheels made a loud and long squeak against the road, Tony didn't feel safe to call anyone until he was five or so blocks away from the beach house. As soon as he was comfortable, he slowed the car to a reasonable speed and pressed Alexis' speed dial.
Ring. Ring. Riiiiiiiing.
He was nervous, scared, and nearly about to shat his pants. He chewed on the inside of his cheeks before he finally heard a click on the other line. "Alexis! Please, tell me everything is still happ-" The voice on the other end scared him even more. "Well, Tony Rizzo, it's been a long time since I talked to you..." Tony's eyes bulged out of his skull. Before he was working with Harrison, he was part of the mob within the darker side of the city. He was lucky to find Harrison when he did, the man saved him from going to prison. The voice on the other end, though, was his worst enemy. It was the cop that nearly got him arrested, permanently. "The jig is up, pal, your little girlfriend is under arrest... the man you guys kidnapped is set free, and because you are apart of this little scam, you're a ward of the state again... your parol has been breached. You're going down, ********> Tony shut the phone immediately and threw it into the passenger seat. <********. ********. ********> He was in trouble, not only kidnapping, but for the stolen vehicle. He immediately abandoned the car at the side of the road, stuffed his phone in his pocket, and popped himself in the nearest diner.
It was then that his phone started to go off again. He felt his heart pound harder. He looked at the caller ID, noticed that it wasn't the police but that Jack kid. He put the phone to his ear and tried to smile politely at the cute waitress who kept eyeing him constantly.
"I'm up for whatever you want to do, just don't hurt Bella."
"Forget it, Kid, it's over... just forget about this entire thing. Just think: you won!"
"Just... like that? You're giving up?"
"Yeh, now for-geyt about eet." He tried to pull off his best fake italian mobster accent and he shut the phone. Tony had to keep quiet now, he had to just sit tight and wait it out.

He quietly helped hook her bra, as well. It was definitely a good stress reliever, he felt much more relaxed. Although the idea that he was wearing dirty clothes on his freshly clean body kept popping into the back of his head. But he tried to keep calm, he tried to tell himself that he had no other choice. He breathed in through his noise and out through his mouth. When they were dressed appropriately enough, Jack exited the bathroom with his left and entwined with Bella's right. The door shut carefully. He noted that everyone seemed to be outside.
Jack gave Bella a quick peck on the lips and whispered in her ear, "Gunna make a quick phone call, go check on everyone else." He smirked and pulled his phone out and headed into the nearest, empty bedroom. He shut the door and stared at the text message, once again, from whom he guessed was Tony. He nervously pressed the little green 'call' button and listened to the ringing.
To his surprise, the phone rang more than once. He expected the guy to answer right away. But as soon as he heard the man's voice, Jack let all his worry fall off his shoulders. "I'm up for whatever you want to do, just don't hurt Bella." He felt strong, like he could do anything and conquer all. After pleasuring Bella in the best way he could and giving himself the best ego boost, this was just a little pat on the back. But the man on the other end didn't sound as scary or menacing as he remembered, he sounded scared.
Jack drew in a breath, "Just... like that.. you're giving up?" The man's accent made Jack laugh outwardly, but the significant click made Jack feel cheated. He didn't get to be the hero, he didn't get to be the Knight in Shining Armor that did everything he could to protect the Princess from danger.
It was over, just with a phone call, it was done. Jack shoved is phone back in his pocket and exited the bedroom to meander his way to the kitchen. There was a mess on the floor. He decided to clean it up. He decided to put all his remainder energy into getting the floor clean and spotless.

OutOfCharacter: This post has a themesong. fecking love blue october. I'm hoping if you listen to it while reading this you'll get the same sort of feel for the post that I did while writing it. I awkwardly bawled my eyes out like a freakin' baby while writing this. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx a l e x i s ☣ a r c h i b a l dxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxa girl's best friend is a small handgun Alexis' mind had already been a horrific jumble prior to the sound of someone beating on the other side of the room's door. She thought that everything she had planned was going to go exactly as she wanted but everything had begun to unravel; and quickly. Jeff wouldn't be quiet. He just wouldn't be be quiet. "Shut up! Just shut up! If you ask me not to hurt your daughter one more time I'll kill you and her!" While that quieted the man down for the moment, that didn't stop the sound of the pounding fists at the door. Someone clearly wanted access to the room; access that Alexis was not going to give up willingly. Of course her willingness to open the door didn't matter when the boot of an armed police officer kicked it with such force that the lock was busted open.
"Police! Put your hands in the air, now!"
Alexis could not believe what was unfolding before her eyes. How on earth had the police managed to track them down? Her first thought was Tony; he was the last person that she trusted and in her eyes, he had now been added to the list of those who'd betrayed her. He left and then called the police to pin this all on me! As if she needed one more thing to throw her mind more off-kilter than it already was, this situation was definitely doing the trick. She was trapped. Not only trapped, but completely alone. Tony was the last person in her life that she felt was actually on her side and he too had tossed her aside like a discarded tissue if it meant that he saved his own a**.
"No. No. No," Alexis whispered over and over to herself, her head shaking back and forth as if the situation was an etch-a-sketch and she could just shake everything away. Once more the officers yelled out to her to put her hands in the air, claiming that it was her last chance to comply before they fired their guns. Alexis still had her own weapon in her hand and they wanted it out of her possession so that there was no threat of anyone innocent being killed. Alexis' frantic mind had to think fast. "He took my medication! I need my medication and he's been keeping it from me!" Alexis screamed, flailing her arms in the air and in the process waving her gun around at the same time.
"Ma'am, just put down the gun and we can talk," one of the officer's attempted to coax her into getting the gun out of her hand.
"It's his fault, his fault. Where is Tony?! He has my medication. I need it!" At this point, Alexis was starting to believe her own lies. Something inside of her brain switched on and she started to truly believe that she was taking her medication until Tony had taken it away from her. An unfortunate mind-set to be in, but helped her act much more convincingly.
"Put the gun down, ma'am," the officer repeated, still fixating the gaze of his own gun directly at Alexis in case the need arrived that he needed to fire in her direction.
Alexis' eyes began to fill with tears and she continued to mutter more comments about her need to take her medication. "You don't understand! You don't understand... they all used me. All of them! This is their mess and they pinned it on me," Alexis hollered hysterically. The more she yelled out the less sense she ended up making. "You don't understand!"
A million and one thoughts fly through her mind as she stood there with the police holding their guns directly at her. She knew that her death was imminent at this point. It was most certainly true that before one dies their entire life flashes before their eyes.
-- It was a warm afternoon in July when nine year old Alexis found herself playing out in the front yard to her parent's summer home. There was a perfectly formed spider web with a fly trapped almost directly in the centre. The young girl watched as the fly struggled with everything that it had to escape the confines of the web before it became lunch for the spider. As the spider began to crawl up towards the fly, Alexis had wanted to grab a rock and toss it at the web so that the fly would be set free, but instead she changed her mind and looked away while the spider devoured its little snack.
That night at the dinner table Alexis explained what she had witnessed that day to her mother. "Why didn't you throw the rock so the fly could live?" her mother questioned, but Alexis did not even need to think before she replied. "They both would have died. The spider was just doing what we are - he needed to eat too."
--
Years later at the same summer house, Alexis found her now-teenage self seated on the same patch of grass that she had seen the spider and the fly years before. The spider web was long gone and this time replaced with the beginnings of a tool shed that her father and uncle were building. Earlier that day Alexis had spoken to her father in a tone he wasn't particularly fond of and as a punishment she was forced to spend the afternoon helping her uncle with the shed.
Many images flashed through her mind of memories from that afternoon she wished many times she could forget. So many times she had wanted to say something about what her uncle had done when she had ended up remaining quiet. After a while she convinced herself that the man she was helping wasn't really her uncle and that what had happened, didn't. Her mind found it so easy to block out the painful events instead of trying to deal with them.
--
"No, you're not my mother! You're not! You can't make me go! You can't make me do anything! You're NOT MY MOTHER!" Seventeen year old Alexis screamed as she was taken out of the office of her therapist and told that she needed to spend some time in the hospital. It was, indeed, both her mother and father who had made the call that her daughter was a danger to herself or others in the mental state she was currently in. Alexis believed that everyone in her life had been replaced with imposters and had vowed if the originals weren't brought back that she was going to kill them and herself. "They're going to make you better, baby. I promise." her mother wept as her daughter was taken away.
"They're going to make you better, baby. I promise," Alexis whispered so quietly that Jeff was the only one who would have been able to hear. With that she raised the gun swiftly and placed the barrel between her lips before pulling on the trigger.
As soon as the shot was fired the officers lowered their guns and rushed forward. Two flocked in Jeff's direction to remove him from the room and ensure that he was safe and sound while the other hurried to Alexis' side in order to check her pulse. As that particular officer got close enough to her body, it was already evident by the spatter on the wall behind her that checking her pulse was an unnecessary task.

OOC So... if no one minds, I'd actually like to end the roleplay on this note. (...It kinda seems to me like one of those somber endings on Criminal Minds or some other crime drama and I like that). If you're interested, however, there'll be a sequel to get out any other plot bunnies you guys might have regarding your characters. Perhaps even adding some new ones if other guild members are interested.
If you don't want to continue, for whatever reason, that's fine and you can come up with whatever idea you want to write out your character or whatever. Can be discussed in the OOC thread or you can PM me.
In order to keep it going (like the "IABOM SERIES" or something) so everyone doesn't lose complete interest, I will create a new thread for the sequel and we can time skip ahead, etc.
So Tony is kinda MIA sorta deal in case perhaps later on Nilla wants to bring him back.
