On the Verge of Reality
The Story behind it all…
Have you ever heard of the expression “my dreams have come true” before?
Well, for Doctor Gordon Willard, this was a phrase that he knew only too well. He used to be a successful man, married with a single daughter whom he loved more than anything, a job that kept him interested and defined him. He was a psychologist, a person of the mind.
His line of work led him to find a woman who was labeled “incurable” by most doctors. Her name was Danielle Montgomery. She was beautiful; with short blond hair, pale white skin, and hazel eyes. Her disease was “delusions of what will be”. And most of the time, these delusions would become real. Moreover, she was paralyzed from waist down.
Doc. Gordon was helpless against her beauty, but knew it was ethically wrong for him to feel the way he did. So he only kept as far as being a doctor to her, no more, and no less. During the time they spent together, they became close friends. To the doctor, he gained the conclusion that Danielle did not have any sort of mental disorder, but rather she had a very special gift albeit uncontrollable. Coming in terms with his conclusion, he decided to marry her. She accepted.
20 years later, Danielle gives birth to a beautiful girl, who they name Andrea. She looks like the mother, but has the attitude of her father. Andrea is a dreamer, with great ambitions of becoming a great person like her father, who is more than capable of helping people. She has gained a hobby of collecting a lot of stories, which she has compiled on a red scrap book. However, the father is none too happy to see his child delve into such “rotten lies.”
Gordon’s work is augmented thanks to Danielle’s premonitions and soon, he becomes a world icon in the field of Psychology. But Gordon isn’t satisfied. He wants to aim higher.
In his years of searching, Gordon has finally found the greatest theory surpassing his inspiration, Sigmund Fraud. Gordon’s theory consists of an untapped potential deep in the psyche of a person, the younger the stronger it is. There are cases that this potential is abnormally strong on some people that give them the ability to do things of the supernatural. The best example is, Danielle, who doesn’t foretell the future, but bends it to her will. He creates a machine that is able to tap into that said potential, but he knows the risks. So he tries to find a test subject. He knows he can’t use Danielle for various reasons, but he knows someone else whom he can use: Andrea M. Willard.
One night, while Danielle is sleeping, Gordon sneaks into their daughter’s room and convinces Andrea to help him “make everyone’s dreams come true”. She agrees happily. Gordon brings her into his office and makes her lie down on a table with a lamp shinning down on it. Andrea becomes uneasy and states that she doesn’t want to do it anymore. Gordon reassures her, and she calms down. He places the headset on his daughter’s head and is about to turn it on, when a hand grabs his. Danielle confronts Gordon about the situation, and fights the doctor who is driven by ambition. On the struggle, Andrea is set free, but it is Danielle who replaces her. Danielle makes one last prophecy, to which Gordon responds “I love you” and pulls the handle. Suddenly, a white light breaks from the headset and Danielle begins shivering, her pupils entering the state of REM. In an attempt to rescue her mother, Andrea jumps in and hits the father with her red book and all the pages scatter. Gordon stumbles and hits some of the machines causing an out balance of power and Danielle screams in horror while her body disappears. Andrea cries out loud to her mother just as she turns into dust.
While Andrea mourns for her mother’s disappearance, the pages of her scrap book begin to glow… and transform! Each of the pages becomes a magical artefact of the stories she collected and in a burst of light they all escape into different parts of the world.
Meanwhile, a hooded figure watches outside their windows…

The Rules and Regulations
oo.1] Literacy. - - - ) Being able to spell correctly, full sentences with commas, punctuations etc. are very important in this RP. No it doesn’t mean it has to be perfect, but just enough so that we can all read it. I will not ask you to write me 8, ooo words but make it a nice set of paragraphs just enough to make a reply. Not to seem a bit manipulative, but the minimum here is at least 2 – 3 Paragraphs. Now another problem that we are faced with is posting. It is due to lack of posting that some RPs (if not all) go extinct. If you are going to participate in something, in anything at all, go through to end or stop now. I mean it. Post at least 2 to 3 times a week, and your a** will be safe from the banning boot.
oo.2] Behaviour - - - ) I’m not going to treat you like little kids, because I will believe you are mature people, so don’t make any mistakes (in terms of conduct) that you’ll regret by breaking these rules. As a fellow human being, I expect you to treat others with the same treatment you desire of them. Keep all romance, violence etc. to PG 15 (because that’s what I think is the minimum age in here) but they are allowed, though not excessively. Anything else I’ve forgotten that’s up –Oh! I almost forgot! Follow all the Rules for this site. Else, I’ll skewer you. Might get in trouble for that but, It’s worth it. > D
oo.3] Joining. - - - ) Unlike other Roleplays, joining here doesn’t require you to make a Profile yet. That is after you successfully join, that you create one. To join, you must simply PM your request followed by a Roleplay sample. This is just standard measures, and for me to know where your literacy lies (though I’m sure it is fine). Send them to me saying “I Believe in Me”. This is only for protagonists, however, because being an Antagonist is a different matter. If you want to become an Antagonist, you must add more effort in your RP sample, and show of your villain like skills: the best way to do this is RPing a plot to kill someone or just plotting something. I must feel a villain-vibe. Send all antagonist PMs with “I’ll crush thine dreams”. Then, you can proceed to make your Profiles, which again you will send them to me.
oo.4] Leaving. - - - ) Some of you, may want to leave for a short amount of time or quit all in all. In both cases, you must PM me 3 days prior your leave. For those wanting a short vacation, without this, you risk losing your character and position, as well as getting kicked out of the roleplay and be marked in the Black list. For those who want to leave permanently, not telling me 3 days before you leave, you will see your name in the black list. You can redeem yourself by giving me a very good reason why. Don’t be afraid. I can be forgiving.
oo.5] Changes. - - - ) All of these rules are subject to change by moi, because I am the sovereign ruler of this Roleplay. If I feel like I need to add a new rule, I’ll inform you via Announcements.
