Then what about first person encounters. My mom has seen the cliche light with a ring of lights around it and an ever changing line that was "dancing" in space. And don't you dare say something like hallucinations or anything. Anecdotal evidence is insufficient to believe such extraordinary claims. If not anything else, human memory is notoriously unreliable.
But really, there would be nothing if it were not for human sightings. You could even relate this to facts. Like shooting stars. Someone saw them and then someone prooved what they are. It's just a matter of theories and prooving things right or wrong. Or in this case, finding what is the truth.I am not saying I doubt there are aliens... I really don't know. I have had many different experiences in my life, and some of them inexplicable by human means, but I do not have any "UFO" experiences... and I don't want any. I may choose to keep an open mind, but that does not mean I have to fill it with greys and reptilians and cover ups that would rock the universe to find out that the White House and Pentagon are both commanded by odd ducks.
Historical monument building was and is capable without alien interference. There is a valid theory out now that the pyramids were build using formed concrete, and not totally out of carved blocks. Its interesting, but not evidence of alien intervention.
Ancient peoples were not stupid. Nor were they unable to use common sense to solve problems. Ancient peoples came up with many inventions that modern people think they are only known to modern peoples. Humanity has forgotten more than it has remembered through the ages that it is only now regaining and overstepping.
I am beginning to believe that the History Channel is becoming more of a conspiracy network than a history network.
