There's something so exquisitely awful about the true "worst ever," when it comes to pain, at least when spoken by an even-minded adult. You know that they've survived at the very least two decades and in all of that time they've never felt such intense pain. It's what makes the sort of person who says it every day so loathsome. It really cheapens the experience for the rest of us.
What is the problem? Or is it of too personal a nature for you to want to share?

Indeed it is awful.
Especially when you try to vent to someone and as soon as they see/hear 'worst ever' in your rant/explanation, they completely start to disregard you and your issue. They just automatically assume, 'Oh, so-and-so is just being dramatic over some insignificant issue.'
And, it's rather personal. Which is simply lame on many different levels, the biggest one being that I can't really just go to anyone and talk to them about it and hope for some advice.

I hope that you didn't think that I was saying that your "worst ever" was insincere. I've never heard you say so, before, so that certainly wasn't directed at you. I was only bringing it up because I think that most everyone knows someone like that, though none of the people that I associate with on Gaia are such people.
Whatever you're going through, I hope that it resolves itself, whatever its resolution entails.

Oh, no. I didn't think for a moment that you were directing it towards me.
I was just rambling about people often don't think a person is actually have a bad day/week, that the person is just whining like everyone else.
I actually tried talking to a childhood friend about my current problem. He thought I was just bitching for the hell of it.
._________.
Thank you. I hope so, too.

thats somewhat invalidating. its as if somehow people feel that other peoples feelings couldnt possibly match up to theirs. even though we all go through rough patches. well i hope things work out for you and you feel better soon.

Im curious what other people do to make themselves feel better during times of emotional trauma. Since this is something I struggle with myself. I dont mean something temporary or something that just gets your mind off of whatever it is. Something that genuinely makes you feel better. So, what relieves pain/stress for you?

I...laugh. It all rubs off- whenever something stressful is happening I dress nicely and make myself feel like a million bucks every day until the stress is over. I laugh a lot too- I act lighthearted and happy, it get's my mind off things and helps me cope.

I drink heavily and stop doing my homework. I don't recommend either one.

You should meet my dad- he's very emotional and at the most he'll cry and eat comfort food- much healthier. ^-^
