Instead of getting angry at Toei for trying to save some of their money from falling out of their pocket during the rough economy.
try contacting american/european/australian/whatever anime licensor in your country, telling them that you'd like to see Sailor Moon brought back over to sub and/or dub. (of course ask politely) even if you don't get a response, if enough people bug them about it, they're surely listen and take action.
also try to support that company by buying another one of that licensor's products. they can't buy sailor moon from japan if they don't have any money to do so.
before we couldn't get Sailor Moon because Toei was holding the licensing rights captive. but now they seem to be letting it loose again. what's important for north american (etc) fans now is to give licensing companies an incentive to want to buy it from them.
that way, if it works, you get episodes of Sailor Moon to watch for a more reasonable price. Toei gets their money, Artists get paid for their work, and maybe toei will get off your back about you posting videos you made from stolen material.
I'm honestly sorry that the videos you poured alot of heart, soul, and energy into aren't available for viewing anymore. but. your argument about AMVs being advertisements is a bit flawed. its not like an average person, or even an average anime fan is going to see your video and suddenly inspired to lay down the cash for some anime. I'm willing to bet that a major chunk of your viewers are already established sailor moon fans who just want to want to see a good video or listen to the song in your amv for free. Cuz I dont know about you guys, but I only watch AMVs for anime that I've already seen and payed for. I don't mean to sound rude to be a jerk to you when I say all this. but the "but I'm advertising!" excuse does not hold up in court. please don't rely on that as your main argument.

Well, good news...I will be supporting Toei after all...or my mom is...she gave in and bought me a box set for Christmas because I told her it was being taken off of Youtube and I was very sad. So, Season 2 at least I will be able to enjoy.
Contacting the company to get them to bring it back is a good idea. They'll be making a lot of money if they do, I bet.

That is a really good point. As fans we should try to work harder together to get a show we really care about brought back or at least released at a more reasonable (and legit) price. I also try to watch amvs that are based off of anime I already paid for, but that still doesn't make it right for someone else to copy it. >-< I just wish they would re work rights and things that could keep work protected while at the same time making certain things available to fans. Like I think a good idea could be making like 5 minutes of an anime episode free for copying for the purpose of fan usage/amvs. Or even just make certain episodes available (kind of like how CN shows certain episodes on their website for free) for copying. There are several things that could be done if we just work together on it.^-^

You will if you don't give proper credit.
But this is important. A revival is going on. What gets posted on websites is going to be a big part of whether it will be back in America or not.
And the YouTube button only works in Forums, for some reason.

Exactly what Blue Rose said. This day in age, people find things on the net and assume it theirs to do whatever they want. They take that copyrighted and created lets say a slide show and get massive credit for something they didn't do (except putting together a slide show of images that isn't theres) Mean while the real artists who lets say did the artwork gets nothing.
So what I am trying to say, its respectful to always credit the rightful owner. If people will start credit others hard work properly, then people wouldn't mind using their work etc as long you are not making profit off of it. Maybe companies or artists don't need to shut down your youtube account or sites if people learn how to credit the respectful artist.
That is why I am very strict about using peoples work without crediting them in the Moonie forum.
