Alerts
Alerts notify you of PMs, additions to friends lists, trades, random events, and hangout requests. They are seen at the top of the screen, next to your avatar.
Private Messaging- You have a new message in your inbox!
Friend Request- You have a new request to become friends with another Gaian user!
Trades- You have a trade waiting in the bank!
Random Events- Notify of random events that will appear on the screen.
Hangout Request- Request for a private conversation with another Gaian member!
Art Arena
The Art Arena is a place for all Gaians to post there art and give it up to rating by other Gaians. It's found on the map in Barten. Very simple to use.
Avatars
Avatars are those lovely little chibi like people you see around Gaia. These represent yourself and the other posters on Gaia. Take note that some people do not portray these images as themselves. Some people like to play characters! Also known as RP or roleplay.
How do I change clothes?
Go to My Gaia and select Dress Up from the drop selection. This will take you to your equip page. There, select the items you want your avatar to wear.
How do I change my avatar?
Go to your profile and click "Delete Character." Delete Character is now found at the bottom right of the profile page. This will allow you to start your character from scratch, creating a brand new look for your avatar.
Due to Gaia's new layout, this feature has disappeared. Please refer to THIS link to delete your avatar.
How do I change the gender/sex of my avatar?
This is a little more complicated. My Gaia>My Page>Acount> Here there will be the an intro to this section. Click the link that says "available." From there, select the sex you would like to change to and hit submit.
Note! You can only change gender twice before a gold fee will be charged.
Bumps
Bump stands for Bump Up My Post. These are used to bump up threads to the top of the stack of threads. These are very common. Bumps can be well loved or well hated. Make sure you check the first page of a thread to find out if you should Bump or not.
Donation Letters
You may have heard talk about Donation Letters. Donation Letters are letters given to people who have donated money to Gaia. These letters hold items that aren't revealed until a certain time of that month. They are new items to Gaia every month.
I see people with items that I don't see in stores. Where do the come from?
These are items that come from Donation Letters or event items (which we'll cover later). They don't appear in shops and you have do donate real money to Gaia to receive them. You may also buy them with gold off of other Gaians who have donated.
How do I donate?
Go to the home page and there is a link there under your Avatar.
Events
Events are random! These are trunks boxes or pink links that appear on your screen while surfing Gaia. You're notified by a simple alert at the top of the screen near your avatar.
Alert- This tells you that there is an event appearing on your screen.
Trunk- Contains uncommon items.
Pink box- Contains rare items.
Pink Link- Gives 1000g to your account upon clicking. The can be found around images as well as text. (Image from Lone's FAQ.)
Blue box- May contain any of the following above. Or special items just for this box.
I don't see anything! Where's my item?!
Don't fret! If the event isn't loading or you can't find it, go to the very bottom of the page and there will be something that says something along the lines of, "If you can't find your event, click here." This will send you back to the homepage. Just check your inventory or gold count to see your prize.
