Trading Passes</center>
Well after seeing YET another n00bie told to buy a trading pass ive decided to make this thread. I'll try and keep it short and simple
A Trading pass, can be bought from the Gambino bank. If you dont know how to get to gambino you click MAP in the top left, then the ^ arrow above the town. and up again. and again. and boom. you're in gambino.
But this is the important bit ok, when people tell you that if you want to get stuff from other people, you need a trading pass. THEY ARE WRONG
A Trading pass is only needed if you want to give something, I have seen too many newbies sell everything they have and buy a trading pass, What point is there having a trading pass when you have nothing to trade?!
If there is a generous soul who wants to give you gold or clothes for free (it does happen. i do it myself occasionaly) Then they can start a trade with you. if they tell you you need to get a trading pass. tell them to get their facts straight!
In order to start trading, you must buy a trading pass. However, you can receive items or gold from other users even without a trading pass.

You only need to buy a trading pass once in order to start trading with other users.
See it even tells you when you go to buy it. You shouldnt be making this mistake XP (Thank you to Princess Koopa Jr for copying Merediths quote for me, since i already had a trading pass, i couldnt see what she said. and couldnt remember XP)
Yes trading passes ARE good. and you SHOULD get one within your first couple of days of being on gaia, but when you're new, its a waste of 500 gold. Spend your starting gold on clothes. THEN get a trading pass. In order to buy items from the marketplace, you will need a Trading Pass
Remember: Even if YOU dont have a trading pass. People can give stuff to you!

Vending passes.</center>
The Vending pass is the new feature, brought in by Gaia. You'll need to buy a vending pass from the bank, for 1000 gold. It will let you place your items into a fully automated auction. you just choose the item you're putting up for auction, choose the price, choose the bid increments, time and sit back and let it handle everything.
You will be notified once someone has hit the auto-buy. You can also tell it not to be buy only. You can keep an eye on your open auctions by visiting your store, also via the marketplace.

I've noticed this happening alot lately. and I have to post something about it. so here it is.
Being new is fun yes, exciting, an adventure. you want to go back and read through all the old threads. thats fine. I actually recommend going back and reading the old posts. you might have some questions you had answered. but:
Please, and i mean Please please down on my knees begging please. If the last post made on that post was weeks ago, DONT make a post on it. Its officially Dead. or even worse. Dont BUMP. i saw this earlier today.
someone had gone back to the last page of the newbie forum and began bumping the old threads back to the front page. We call this "Necro'ing". Necromancy is magic in bringing back the dead. think zombies and skeletons and the like. Bringing back an old topic from last month to the front page, will not only annoy people (like me) but it can spark off a huge debate again if its a touchy subject.
Remember: If you're going through the previous couple of pages of forums, and you see a topic you really want to comment on, check the last date, if its more than a week old, leave it. If you feel you really need to say what you want to say, read the entire thread. make sure no one else has said it. Then only if you really DESPERATELY have to say your jewel of information, that no one else has discussed, feel free to bring a thread back from the dead.

Bumps are intended for posts that are very important and have alot of information on them (Like this one) or have a question that needs to be urgently answered. People bump because it puts the post back to the front page of the forum. I've seen too many times "PLZ CAN I GET SUM GOLD" or other similar threads bumped. Why bump it?! whyyyy?! you shouldnt even be begging here! You should be begging on the charity thread! As a general rule, bumping is not allowed in welcome to gaia.
Remember: Dont bump every thread you see. Bump only the important ones. Bumps in the gaia exchange are usually appreciated.

How to get rich bastards like me to give you gold</center>
Ok so i promised on my next update I'd let you in on some little secrets on how to get gold from other users.
NOTE: This is merely some advice on etiquette, NOT everyone goes by these guidlines, some people just hand out gold without caring, but i know alot of people who will agree with me on these guidelines.
1. Spell properly: I am a real b***h for spelling. I cant stand someone who posts like so. "HI EVRY1 I AM NEW. HOW R U GUYS?!?!?! I TINK DIS IS FUN" How much harder is it to type ONE or TWO more letters. Ok yes I can understand if you use an abbreviation for a long word, such as "abbrev." or "abb." for abbreviation. But using "U" instead of "you" is just lazy and wont score you any respect points.
We agree. We all agree. Bad spelling is annoying.
2. Dont whine about it: dont make EVERY single one of your posts mention how much you "Want that jacket" or "Need those pants". No one likes a whiner. And When you've made a thread asking for gold (which doesnt tend to go down too well), dont whine and b***h when someone (like me) says no.
3. Dont PM: This is THE worst thing to do, PM someone you dont know and ask for gold. ITS BAD. NO. DONT DO IT. I had a real gem of a case a few days ago, you might of seen the thread about it, where someone actually changed their gender and tried to FLIRT with me to get gold, and then when i burned them for begging, they pretended it was their sister and went on with the whole "Oh shes got cancer please be nice to her". And DONT EVER EVER Get a users aim/yahoo/msn and beg them on there for gold. Thats just.... how can you sleep at night?
4. EARN gold yourself: one of the best ways to impress more regular users (like me) is to post alot. and not just random spam. I will gladly hand out 200(update: actually I give out about 500 a time now. if not more) gold to a user who i see (through their profile) is making an effort. I was VERY impressed with a certain girl a few days ago, who had only been on 2 days, and had already made over 100 posts, which were all worthwhile and decent posts.
5. You dont know everything: Make sure you read all the advice and FAQ and Stickies provided. You're new. you dont know how everything works. and if you are going to give another newb advice PLEASE make sure its correct.

I've seen enough of this to make me puke. so now im posting on it.
Some of the Regs come onto the newbie board alot, and look for gullible newbies to "Own". They promise payouts of gold for "Good" slaves and what not.
Now you're probably wondering, "Why the hell would you want to be an online slave?" And its a good ******** question. regs get their slaves to bump their posts whenever they are on, because they are too lazy to do it themselves. Alot of them also tend to expect real life pictures, and quite often ive come across many demanding sexual favours.
Please note this is not a bite at the d/s (dom(me)/sub) fetish that many enjoy(but kindly keep it out of gaia. Remember this is a pg-13 forum.), it isnt. Look out for money grabbing assholes who "claim" you and then sell you on the gaia exchange without your knowledge.
Slave threads which involve toture, harassment, or anything above a pg-13 nature are now banned. That still doesn't stop people trying.
Remember:TRUST is vital. dont go leaping head first into a bit of "fun". make sure that if you do buy into this craze, that you KNOW the person who "owns". and that he/she knows what you will and wont do. because inevitably, the whole human phyche revolves around sex. and its sickening. It's also NOT allowed on gaia.

User A believe in this this this and this. User B believes in that that that and that. On the world wide web, difference of opinion and belief is inevitable, thats why its the world wide web. One of two things can happen.
Scenario A:
User A: I believe in "this" and "this" and was wondering if anyone else believed in this too.
User B: HAHAHA ******** you you believing in "this" is a load of crap. You suck you freak.
*flame war erupts, with insults and snide remarks against other users beliefs*

Gaia is less than months away (I'd hesitate to say a couple weeks) from leaving Alpha testing stage, and going beta. What does this mean? More features, alot of new things, and quite a few more possible glitches. Remember, it is impossible to fully test every possible scenario. So please have patience with the mods and admin. They will try their best to test the new features, but there will still be the occasional bug. You can help by informing them of anything that goes wrong. Your best bet will be to have a look in Q&F and see if anyone has mentioned it already.
The images above are samples from the new Avatar system, which will let you choose different poses. VO has stated that although some of the poses look very much like they are holding weapons, the actual battle system is still quite far away.
Saying that, I myself am looking forward immensely to the Battle system once it does arrive. I've been saving so I can buy some nice things ;3
Remember: Theres no point complaining about bugs and glitches unless you help do something about it.

Short answer? No. You can't. I will not lend anyone any of my items. It is way too easy for you to steal them once you have them, and there is no guarantee you'll ever give it back. However, there is an alternative.
The Gaia Avatar Creator Was made so people could try on items before they bought them. You can make your "dream" avatar here, and you won't need to borrow any items from anyone.
The site is still under construction, and only female avatars are available at the moment.

Alrighty. Journals. Its pretty self explainatory, but if you need it explained.
Think of your Diary in real life. Writing down your thoughts and feelings. Its up to you if you want it to be public, so everyone else can see it, or private, so its only you to see it. Maybe you only want to let your friends see it. No problem.
You can access your and other peoples' journals by going to their profiles (Alternatively you can access yours via your inventory as well), linked under their posts. Don't expect everyone to have one though ;3.

Subscribing to a thread lets you keep track of your favourite posts. It is VERY convenient (I have all my links in Internet Favourites. Imagine how cluttered and messy it is. I'll have to spend a couple hours sorting them into subsciption razz ) and is easy to do. All you need to use this feature, is, when you have found a thread you'd like to easily find again, go to the bottom left corner of it, and click
Easy as that!
You can then access the threads you are subscribed to by clicking "Thread Subscription" right next to the Memberlist and Search links.

I've been wanting to post this for a long time, but i havent been Getting pink links, only Trunks and giftboxes (like im gonna complain XD)
Anyway I just got a pink link. so here you guys go.

<center>Gaia going Beta? OMG BATTLZ!!!
</center>Gaia is less than months away (I'd hesitate to say a couple weeks) from leaving Alpha testing stage, and going beta. What does this mean? More features, alot of new things, and quite a few more possible glitches. Remember, it is impossible to fully test every possible scenario. So please have patience with the mods and admin. They will try their best to test the new features, but there will still be the occasional bug. You can help by informing them of anything that goes wrong. Your best bet will be to have a look in Q&F and see if anyone has mentioned it already.
The images above are samples from the new Avatar system, which will let you choose different poses. VO has stated that although some of the poses look very much like they are holding weapons, the actual battle system is still quite far away.
Saying that, I myself am looking forward immensely to the Battle system once it does arrive. I've been saving so I can buy some nice things ;3
Remember: Theres no point complaining about bugs and glitches unless you help do something about it.

Short answer? No. You can't. I will not lend anyone any of my items. It is way too easy for you to steal them once you have them, and there is no guarantee you'll ever give it back. However, there is an alternative.
The Gaia Avatar Creator Was made so people could try on items before they bought them. You can make your "dream" avatar here, and you won't need to borrow any items from anyone.
The site is still under construction, and only female avatars are available at the moment.

Alrighty. Journals. Its pretty self explainatory, but if you need it explained.
Think of your Diary in real life. Writing down your thoughts and feelings. Its up to you if you want it to be public, so everyone else can see it, or private, so its only you to see it. Maybe you only want to let your friends see it. No problem.
You can access your and other peoples' journals by going to their profiles (Alternatively you can access yours via your inventory as well), linked under their posts. Don't expect everyone to have one though ;3.
<center>Thread Subscription</center>
Subscribing to a thread lets you keep track of your favourite posts. It is VERY convenient (I have all my links in Internet Favourites. Imagine how cluttered and messy it is. I'll have to spend a couple hours sorting them into subsciption razz ) and is easy to do. All you need to use this feature, is, when you have found a thread you'd like to easily find again, go to the bottom left corner of it, and click
Easy as that!You can then access the threads you are subscribed to by clicking "Thread Subscription" right next to the Memberlist and Search links.
