I cast the spell over and over again, the dark thoughts had completely taken over. There was not stopping them now. This stupid snake had to pay, it just had to. I didn't care that it was merely here to be a distraction.
Over and over I cast the spell, I lifted my arm to cast once more, when I took sight of the poor creatures face, it held terror in its eyes. Terror and pain. I dropped my arm and let my wand roll out of my hand and drop to the ground.
What...what had I done to this creature...I had become the monster that I swore to fight after healing from that attack two years ago. And here I was using the same spell that those evil men had used on me, on another living creature. It was the maze it had to be the maze, tearing running down my face I snatched up my wand, and ran, I just ran. I had to get out of this bloody maze now. Before I hurt someone else.

The world was spinning like one of the merry-go-rounds of Liviana's childhood. Even closing her eyes did not stop the sensation of perpetually spinning. She wanted to melt into the cold, dark earth forever.
The walls of the maze seemed to laugh at her. The corridors shook with what seemed to be mirth. The howling wind chortled, and even the snowflakes seemed to dance with bliss.
Cold tears streamed down Liviana's cheeks as she continued to tremble violently.

Aludra Yvette... It seemed her prayer was finally answered, the snake had crawled back into the wall of the maze from which it had come but Aludra didnt stop running, she couldnt. She just wanted to be away from everything that was happening in the maze, away from anything or anyone that might be close to her... she just wanted to be alone. With every dead end she came to, she turned right around not bothering to think what direction she needed to go in. Insanity comsumed her every movement and thought. She could never escape, she would run around in this wizard-built maze until the end of time, forever its prisoner. Her mind had given in to that thought, finally accepting that she would never find her way out again, but her body didnt. Her body wanted out of this hell! It wanted to be back in the warmth of the sunshine, to once again be in the presence of friends. To be in the arms of Kenneth...
Her mind laughed her her body's feeble attempts to run. 'Where are you going? Trying to run from the inevitable as always, I see. We're trapped in here. We lost. Give up, its over. Just let the maze consume you and this suffering will end.' Aludra's body fought back with what last bit of strength it had. It didnt want to give up, it had to keep going for the sake of it's lost mind, it had to keep trying. ...6th Year Slytherin

After putting some distance between myself and the scene of my total breakdown, I stopped and placed my hand against the thorny wall of the maze, trying to catch my breath. Closely my eyes I took in some deep breaths, trying to calm myself down. I was truly shaken, and disgusted at myself or my actions back there. Standing there for a short time, i was able to slightly calm my nerves down. Placing my wand in my palm I said, "Point Me" I need to figure out where I was after just running blindly though the maze. My wand stopped spinning and pointed slightly to the front and right. Okay my blind running hadn't caused me to vir to far off course, I need to take the the next right and hopefully that would lead me out of the god forsaken maze.

Ghosts from the past and present floated before Liviana's feverish face.
A Slytherin girl, one with short black hair called out, "Why did you think you were good enough? You should learn to never play with the big kids!" she danced happily, much like that of the blissful snowflakes, and then was suddenly gone.
An older boy, this time Gryffindor came before her, his voice like that of the howling wind. "Why did you ever think anyone would believe in pathetic little Liviana? You must be joking!"
Liviana's tears turned to tears of anger. Her sick mind unable to decipher what was real and what was not. How could they do this to her? Angrily she attempted to rise up, succeeding only to pull her dying body along some of the frozen shrubbery.

Aludra Yvette... Her body had finally shut down. From all the running and the internal clashing, Aludra dropped face down into the dirt, unmoving. Her brain and body were inactive as she laid on the ground, completely concious of her were abouts. She could see the wind moving the edge branches of the hedges, but she could register it. Her sight of her surrounding were perfect, but the ability to register what was going on in her brain had failed. At a glance, it looked like she was dead... just a corpse waiting to rot on the cold damp floor of the maze. It seemed like this was her time of dying.
She seemed to lay in the dirt for days, but it had only been a few moments since she had collapsed. Her body had shut itself down to reboot. Just taking a few moments to rest before letting Aludra regain full motion of her body. She got up from the ground, unsmiling as she stood in place looking around her. Aludra had no recollection of running into the spot, all she could remember was the snake obstacle that seemed to had happened so long ago. It made no sense to her... so she just walked forward. Hopeful that she would find the exit from this chilling place of horrors. ...6th Year Slytherin

Liviana dragged herself along the snowy ground, like a woman possessed.
"How dare they?" she kept muttering to herself as she inched along. Her forehead was damp with sweat despite the freezing temperatures, and her normally deep blue eyes were cloudy. Her legs bleed through the bandaged, leaving the pure white ground stained crimson as she dragged her gravely ill body along the path.
The maze did not object anymore to where she wished to go. No more thorns obstructed her path. It was as if the maze had finally gotten what it had wished.
Liviana pulled her nearly-spent body around one corner, and came to a different part of the structure. She had never been to this part before. A shining white light emanated from it, as though the insanity of the maze could not touch those there.

Aludra Yvette... The air in the night was cold and Aludra shivered from it, cursing that she hadn’t thought to bring a jacket. Of all the things that had gone on tonight, she was worried about not brining along her jacket. It had been a few moments since the last encounter she had and her will was wearing thin. It seemed so long ago since the task had begun, all Aludra wanted to do was be done with the task. It didn’t matter now whether she finished or not, she just wanted out. She held her wand flat in her palm and looked it directly. “Point Me.” she said sadly, praying that she would find a way out of the madness. Her wand spun in her hand like a top, point to the left of her which ment she might be heading in the wrong direction. The truth was she had no clue where the end was, but it had to be close. Aludra wipped the frustrated tears from her face and went in the direction her faithful wand had pointed in. Maybe it would bring her some much needed luck.
Aludra hugged herself to try to retain warmth and walked down a long path North, or what her wand said was North. There was just no telling what was what in this maze anymore, everything was backwards to her. Left was right, up was down, north was south. It all was so hopeless to her. Aludra was starting to lose faith that she would ever find her way out of this monstrous prison of a maze, it had been to long, and her time limit was about up. She was considering sending up the red sparks to show her submission from the competition when she saw a flicker of golden light emit from the pathway she had just passed. Aludra figured it was just a trick of light, another silly game that this wretched maze was trying to play on her again… but what choice did she have but to check it out. One look couldn’t hurt anyone. ...6th Year Slytherin

That was it the light at the end of the tunnel, I was drawn to it like a moth to flame, it signified escape from the bloody maze, for the creatures, and the internal battle with myself and I had nearly ran by the path that contained it. Sliding to a halt I changed directions and headed down the path that lead to escape hoping that this was not some other twisted trick the maze was playing on me.
I could hear the crunching of leaves and roots on both sides of me, it seemed that three separate tunnels lead to the light, I could only hope that both the tunnels contained the girls. With the last bit of energy I had I threw myself at the light. I came crashing out of the maze, and landed face first into a brightly lit area, a roaring sound filled my ears.

Collapsing within the archway of the bright light, Liviana was near death. The only thing keeping her from crossing the threshold into the land of the dead was the fierce rage that consumed her. She wanted nothing more than to punish those two. How dare they make her believe they were her friends, and then laugh at her? She would make them pay dearly for that. Oh, yes. Dearly.
Liviana propelled her body forward once more and her index finger lightly touched the source of the white light. Instantly she was transported out of the darkness of the maze. As her body landed hard on the frosty grass, clarity did the same.
As did her realization of her current predicament. Her body was slick with cold sweat, her fever high, eyes flat, legs losing too much blood, and her wrists, neck, and head throbbing.
"Help," she cried weakly, before losing consciousness.

Aludra Yvette... She stood in the cooridor and saw a wall of golden light at the end… the same golden light she had stood in at the beginning of this wretched task. A flitter of warmth and hope leaped into her heart and gave her back the internal strength she needed to go all the way. Had she finally found the light at the end of this seemingly endless dark tunnel? Or maybe she had found the entry way to heaven. Maybe somewhere alone her trials she she died and not known it. Either was a relief to her, either she would take with open arms. She took a few steps forward, scared that the maze might be putting on an elaborate show for her. But she soon through caution to the wind and made a made dash for the light.
The closer she got to the light source, the more warmth she felt. It was like the sun was shining down on this moment as she came just to the edge of the light. Aludra closed her eyes tight as she threw herself through the exit of the maze and landed face first into the warm dirt. The feel of the warm dirt was more then welcome, it ment that she was safe and she had done it, she had finally escaped the terrors within that aweful prison. Aludra sobbed quietly into the dirt, refusing to raise her head. She just wanted to lay there and bask in this moment of triumph and relief. "I did it, I did it..." she cried into the sandy ground. Her child-like huffs were drowned out by the cheerful and monsterous applause by the crowd, welcoming their Champions back. ...6th Year Slytherin

Picking myself off the dirt I soon realized that the roaring sound was that of the people in the crowd who had come down to watch the task. I didn't want them to look at me, I was still disgusted at myself for my actions. Looking around I saw that girls had indeed emerged from the other tunnels, in fact it was the same three tunnels that we used at the start, the bloody maze didn't really have an end it just looped around on itself.
Not paying the maze another thought I was out...no we were out.. and that was all that mattered to me not the twisted mind of that maze. I saw that Aludra was lying face down in the dirt, I slowly walked over to her and lifted her up. "Aludra are you okay?" I asked as I tired in my tired stat to support both of us. "Let's go to the med tent and let them look at us while we wait for our scores."
