So far I haven't had any issues, and most parents are relieved that someone actually talked to their kid 'cause they can't do it. The reaction that bothers me is when parents do the whole, "Well, I don't know why she felt she couldn't talk to me about it."


Oooh, I hate it when parents are oblivious like that. My parents were--they didn't even TRY to have "the talk" until I was 17. 17!!! My mom even told me that she'd assumed that I'd already leaned everything I needed to know, and she was just making sure I had the facts straight. The "facts" she was giving me I had straight at 11, during public school puberty briefing. stressed

I never ever want to be a parent like that.
