 Amelia frowned, trying to remember where she'd actually heard the answer. "That's its defense, isn't it? Doesn't it grow while something's on it, fighting it? Or does it just move?" She let her hair fall into her face, hiding her eyes. Well, that was dumb of her. Maybe her new rule should be to keep quiet entirely. Not just stop asking dumb questions.

Stars smiled, understanding what Amelia was getting at. "Hmm, I think you might be referring to how Devil's snare becomes more restricting as whatever it has caught struggles against it. I'm not sure it's actually grown, perhaps it just uses more strength."
She saw Nathaniel writing and peeked over his notes and saw he was writing "trap".
"So Nathaniel, what kind of use could a plant that constricts its victims have?"

He was surprised but he shrugged while answering. "I guess you can use it as a security device but I don't see who'd like to have such a plant in your basement. Maybe a hunting trap too ? One who owns such a trap must have ill intentions somewhere." he presumed.

Lena raised her hand and spoke. I have, Professor. My parents told me loads about him and I've read old Daily Prophets and books about him. But what does this have to do with herbology? She asked, curious and not seeing the connection between the two subjects.

Stars spoke purposefully, as though she was trying to get the pupils to think about the wizarding world and see crossovers.

Oh. Lena replied. He used it to guard something? And, Professor, weren't certain kinds of plants also used in the second wizarding war to attack Death Eaters? Plants such as devil's snare and tentaculas? She asked.

Blaine slipped into the greenhouse as quietly as possible. She knew she was extremely late, but she had gotten lost again. She couldn't ever find the greenhouses for the life of her. She was always wandering around the hallways and the grounds as she looked for them. She was just glad she hadn't gotten in trouble for it yet. Yes, another class she accidentally ditched. But it wasn't her fault. She just had a bad memory.

Well, it looked like it was growing. She distinctly remembered the horrifying photo that showed the Devil's Snare twining rapidly around its struggling victims. The captious girl, wrapped her arms silently around her hugging herself. She tried to suppress the shudder that started from the hints of evil that He-who-must-not-be-named did. She could feel the fear her peers had from stories of loss and hardship told by their parents. Even without that to build up her fear, she still suffered when hearing it. Automatically her mind would wonder what it would be like beside someone like that. If she would feel the evil emitting in waves from him. It made her mind feel dirty and scared; a sensation that was hard to lose.
