It's a little shorter, but it's got a lot of Mythical principles and Symbolism stuffed into it.
There isn't much you need to know for this one. This one should make sense without any background knowledge, except that which can be gathered from stepping outside. Though it is a myth born of my Novel, it can still easily be applied in any context.
Basically, if you have trouble understanding what's going on, than either I really suck at writing, or you're a moron. :3

Please leave your comments, critiques, and blah blah blah. I mostly just wrote this cuz Weasel asked me why the Moon was important to me. This isn't why exactly, but the reason is derived from the concept I laid out here.

Long ago, when the Stars were young, but the existence Love had permeated eons, the Earth and the Sea were born in stillness. To the West, the Palace of the Sea rose up out of the ocean, and in the East the Earth’s Paradise lay in the grandest meadow a Mortal could ever see. From afar, they looked out over the darkness and spied each other, lonely and curious. Each stretched their borders to each other, until the Earth met the Sea in a passionate clash, which even sent the Stars tumbling through the heavens in lazy swirls. From the instant they touched, it was Love for another soul. Out of their dalliance, the Children of the Sky were born; the Rivers, the Woods, and the Winds. It was the pleasure and destiny of the Children to experience the beauty of their parents’ Love for eternity.

With words of Love, the Sea reached deep within herself, and from her heart she formed the Brilliance of the Sun. She presented it to the Earth, and he Loved her all the more for it. He wore it proudly around his neck, and daily held it high so that all their children could bask in the strength and brilliance of the Seas loving spirit. A token of her Love, the Sun gave him strength, vitality, and warmth. It was a pendant made to represent the eternal bond that he shared with the Sea.

With words of Love, the Earth reached deep within himself, and from his own heart he crafted the Pearl of the Moon. He presented it to the Sea, and her Love for him increased. She held it proudly, and nightly held it up in the light of the Sun, so that all their children could admire the beauty and passion of the Earths loving spirit. A symbol of his Love, the Moon wooed the waters of the Sea, carrying her in a swaying dance in which all inhabitants of the world were a part of. It was an ornament made to represent the eternal bond that she shared with the Earth.

Every day, and every night, the Children of the Sky bore witness to the glowing pride of the Earth and the Sea. Even in later centuries, Mortal would look up and remember the Sun and Moon as the greatest gifts of passion ever exchanged. Even the Stars, in their ease, witness the gifts and remember.
