Ezili ducked down embarassed by her lapse and her mother's scolding. She was very sensitive to even a slight scold. "I'm sorry mother," she replied and turned to the lion. "I am Ezili. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude. I was trying to understand." She paused and the tip of her tongue snuck out for a moment as she considered her question. "What is a goddess? Who is Eywa?" she asked finally addressing the questions to both the adults.
She felt very nervous and forward for asking, but she really wanted to know what was going on. So much had happened already and learning more about Eywa seemed very very important to her right then.

Eytucan turned to answer the children's questions. He smiled down at the boy first. "The people are still here yes. They are farther into the forest. Not far... far enough to be safe. We normally do not venture very far from our home tree, as danger lurks outside our home... I am the king and head warrior, thus I must keep an eye on the borders... and make sure the people are safe. " He said with a smile.
He then turned to the little girl, who was very quiet at first and seemed to grow brave as she spoke. "A goddess is a deity. They usually have wings and a place among the world... Our goddess is the deity of mothers. She is the high mother. She is Eywa. Does that make sense?" He looked to Clerm. "Course you're mother can probably clarify for you later... "
He looked to Clerm. "Shall I lead your little group on our way into the pride? Have you made your decision to join us?"

Clermeilli-Pie took Ayizan's boldness as a good sign for now. Perhaps he would make a great warrior one day. Ezili's aim to please and mirroring Clermeilli, did make the mother consider her own faults often these days. Perhaps Ezili would be a wonderful huntress like Clermeilli was herself. These thoughts made her also wonder what Crue would be like when he was older, or Marinette for that matter.
A few moments of inner contemplation and regret over her lost cubs left Clermeilli-Pie without the attention she should have had to what the Chief was saying to her cubs. Of course, she also missed his changing to her at first and she started when he spoke to her. Clermeilli had to take a moment to think recall what she had heard, but not listened to. "I apologize for my rudeness... I was lost in thought. If you have no objection to having us, I do wish for myself and my cubs to be part of Eywa's children."
Maybe she would one day see this winged goddess for herself? Clermeilli-Pie nudged the cubs to follow Eytucan. "Come along, little ones. As my mother would say, 'Eywa waits patiently, but should not be left waiting to long.'" Clermeilli-Pie may have been the only one to see the irony in her own words, but that really was all that mattered. The lioness was finding humor in the fact that she had thought her mother odd before and now, well now, she was faced with her mother being proven correct. It was an interesting development.

Ayizan listened to Eytucan, his eyes shining with a new respect for the male lion when he told him he was the leader of the pride. You could almost see, without having the ask the young cub, that he was brimming with excitement at the prospect of joining the pride and becoming a warrior. And his eyes grew even bigger when Eytucan described the Goddess. To think that they actually existed, and that he might meet her one day, was almost more exciting than Ayizan could sit still for.
He looked at his mother, who seemed to be daydreaming? But she presently spoke again, and told the leader the words he’d been hoping to hear. That they were going to stay.
“When can I train to be a warrior? D’you think I’ll be a good one? Will there be lots of lions there?” Ayizan was an endless source or questions, peppering them at his mother gleefully, even though he knew not all of them would be answered right away.

Ezili was learning all sorts of new things. So this was not just a member of the mysterious pride but the leader. She wondered if it was normal for a leader to be so welcoming. Perhaps it was because cubs were hardly a threat, though there mother could be if threatened.
The idea of a lioness with wings like a bird fasinated her. "I think I'll learn more as I grow what it all means," she replied. "Thank you for answering."
She smiled openly as her mother made their choice. If the leader was an indication this would indeed be a good place. She padded along beside her brother who seemed full of questions. He already seemed so sure of finding a place for himself here. She wondered what her's would be. Plenty of time for that later.

Eytucan smiled and nodded simply. "Well than, the trek is rather difficult for some but I have a feeling your children will have no problem if they keep to our toes... " He said, looking down at them. "There are many there Ayizan... And you will begin your proper training at the proper age... until then you may assist others in that rank, helping them with small things and learning if you wish... "
He dipped his head low to pass under some low hanging tree branches and ferns. "We shall go as a group. You are welcomed home Clerm... back to where your blood once ran. Here... your blood will become one with the people again..."
He turned and began to lead them to the pride.
