On Monday morning the store next to my parent's sign shop had goat legs and a blood circle around it in front of the door. Today there was gigantic fishhead there with again a blood circle and possibly a cross underneath it. I know these are likely curses in Santeria...but I am freaked. Any ideas on how to protect my parents, the shop, myself?

Its close to my parent's shop, my parents are friendly with the owners...and hell its pretty obvious its bad...whatever it is near my parent's shop or at it is too close for comfort.

Look, without a picture of it- without knowing if there was a veve, a bandana or anything else, there's no way to say who was being contacted.
You may think it's "bad" but there's really no reason to think so other than you're afraid of animals and blood.
Even if it was bad, what did the other owner do to get someone so angry they'd go for a goat instead of something else?

I'd also like to point out that whatever the responsible party is trying to accomplish it is obviously aimed specifically at the shop next to your parents shop. They aren't the target and I doubt it will have any effect on them or the shop. If they are effected it would likely be more in a more practical way, like vandalism or fire. So my suggestion would be make sure the store is insured well and would cover any damages, has adequate out door lighting and security cameras, make sure all fire alarms and extinguishers are functioning properly. Suggest your parents and their employees (if they have any) use a buddy system for closing up and carry mace/pepper spray or some other self defense item.

That's what I was thinking- that if it was something bad, it could effect the whole area. In most of the religions that came from African Diaspora, you're expected to go to a priest or priestess and have them work for you.

Sorry for the delay guys. I know that its not necessarily bad. However the cop who came to investigate and the owners themselves all stated that the intention was to curse the Shopkeepers or the shop itself. Which is bad. Both were arranged with the animal part in the middle of circle made with the animal's blood. Its probably just someone trying to scare them as they are now doing a high-profile case in Miami. They are lawyers. Anyway this has really just kinda shown me I need to know how to protect myself from such...things. I dont know what word to use.

I think what everyone's trying to say is that what one does, what action should be taken (if any) and how to do it, will vary depending on the situation.

Its in a plaza. The middle of the plaza. And the thing was right in front of their shop. The cop knows its Santeria cuz hes from Miami and has seen this stuff before he said. I dont think its going to do much. I think it was mostly to scare one of their clients.
