Fourteen years? Keiji couldn't help but to be shocked and awed by that, from what he'd gathered from the television not all marriages lasted so long so it was nice to hear that they were able to do it and still sound quite happy from the way that Caine told it. Once more he was told the story of Aekepi and he couldn't help but to feel saddened by it, the poor boy... for him to be out there somewhere thinking his family dead? He knew of such worries as he was worrying where Avery might be himself and he wondered if Avery thought of him at all.

"I hope that one day your able to find him." He murmured, wishing there was something he could do for them... but as nothing more then a Fallen and just an artist at that he didn't have much in the way of any power that could aid them. A shame really as they were such kind people...

Keiji's wings gav ea slight twitch at what the man said, not the part about the open household but the part after that. Not exactly human? He titled his head to one side, "What do you mean?" He found himself asking, feeling a touch of fear and worry creeping up in him, not for himself but for them. He had to know what the man was he found himself thinking all of a sudden, "If you not human... then... umm..." He didn't continue the question, it just sounded rude didn't it? Especially with the man having no reason why he was asking such a question, "Ahh... forgive me, that sounded bad."

Caine shook his head genially. "No, not rude. Curious - and that's something both Jason and I encourage. We are were-creatures. Myself, I am a werecoyote. Jason is a werefox slash werewolf cross. We were born into separate packs, but mine disowned me for the sheer fact that they hadn't known my mother was a coyote and not a wolf. I never knew my father."

He looked back up at the sky, and started walking back to the house, motioning for the boys to follow him. "It's no great secret. Neither of us really have a cause to tell people, however - because relatively few of the families we know have children as wonderfully observant and curious as you. But then again - curiosity is considered a sign of intellect. I didn't need to understand that to see that you are a very intelligent child, however."

Starting up the path toward home, Rokiro made a quick dash to catch up to his father and his friend. Didn't want to lose them afterall. "We've found the people of Gaia rather accepting of our oddities. As a great deal of people inhabiting this place, we are - if you will - aliens. From another place, another planet entirely. Which, I've seen from watching others... is not entirely uncommon."

Caine smiled over at Kei. "So tell me, if you'll pardon MY rudeness... who is your parent? Perhaps I might like to meet them?"

Were creatures he thought to himself, eyes going wide as the details were explained to him. Instantly he found himself mulling over the information. Weren't they dangerous? Didn't the moon phases causes them to have moments where they weren't in control? Where they would hurt people? He went through all the information he'd been given from the books at his guardian's house before he heard Caine asking about his 'parent' and he was instantly shaking his head, "No... no... I don't want for you to meet him."

Keiji chewed on his lower lip before dropping his gaze, "I... don't know how he would view you and your husband, he is... Shin... Shin hunts and kills monsters for a living and I am unsure if he would consider you two as that or not." He wrapped his arms around himself, head bowed forward, and waited to be dismissed. Surely if Shin hunted their kind Caine wouldn't want him around, would he? He gave a shaky sigh, "I should leave..." Better that he left so that he didn't cause an incident between the two families. A shame really because he'd finally thought that he'd found himself a friend that he would be able to hang out with. It was for the best though, it would been Rokiro from having to lost any more family members he told himself.

In a rather submissive and defeated manner Keiji moved over to where his bag of spray paint was sitting, waiting for him and picked it up, "It was nice hanging out with you, Rokiro." He murmured to his friend, not wanting to go because he had been enjoying himself but he didn't mind sacrificing his own happiness for that of others.

"Now wait JUST a moment."
Caine reached out to grab the boy's shoulder, very lightly. "If you're worried about us being monsters? We're not. It's more of a spiritual thing with us, and we have complete control. Allow me to show you that you are perfectly safe."

The man drew back, took a deep, slow breath, and allowed his body to melt into its natural form. The transition was seamless. One moment, there was Caine, in all his be-ponytailed glory. In the next, there was a beautiful russet-brown, and tan coyote, with white belly and black paws. Intelligent eyes peered from that beautiful face, and a goofy, opened-mouthed smile. The animal was as friendly as Caine had been, and he was right. He had complete control. He was NOT a 'monster' - but a beautiful, friendly animal with a human form most of the time.

Rokiro grinned over at Kei. "You don't have to be scared!" he said, reaching over to take Kei's hand. "Both my dads are really nice in their animal forms... You want to pet him?"

Keiji gave a little jump when he felt the hand come to rest on his shoulder and he turned to look up at Caine, "Huh? Oh! No, no!" He gasped, shaking his head. His cheeks turned several shades of red and he looked more then a little worried that he had insulted the man and his husband, "No... I never meant to imply that I think that I just..." His words trailed off as he watched the the way that hte man changed from one form to another, something that was both shocking and amazing to behold, "Oh... wow..."

He was clearly surprised and in awe of what he was being shown. It was amazing to see someone shift in such a manner, something he hadn't seen before, "You... don't seem like the ones in the books." He murmured, his eyes still seemed the same, he didn't seem dangerous or that he was going to go attacking people for no reason... he seemed friendly enough. He wondered what Shin would think of this man...

A little jolt went through Keiji's hand in his and he looked over at his friend, "Ahhh... huh? Oh, no... no I'm not scared of him but for him! I don't want him to meet with Shin if its dangerous for him since Shin is a Hunter... I don't want to bring any strife or grief to your family, Rokiro." He looked up at his friend before looking back at the canine once more. Pet him? He wasn't sure if wanted to pet the guy... it seemed a little odd since he was a person just a moment ago after all, "I don't know... it seems like petting someone might be a little... rude." Last thing he wanted was to be rude to someone with a lot of sharp teeth.

Rokiro giggled a bit, and reached out to scritch Caine's ears. The russet coyote leaned his head into the affection, and looked up expectantly to Kei, wagging his tail just a little. Just enough to show that he would really, really like that.

"Dad does this every now and then. It's really neat when the both of them are in animal form. Sometimes, they take me out to the creek a bit from here, and howl together, and I get to howl too if I want, and to watch the stars.."

He trailed off. "But... I mean, I like that sort of thing... I'm so sorry... I'm forcing all of this on you, and..." Trailing off again, he blushed, and looked to one side. "Am... am I rushing you into anything? I don't want to be doing that, but... I'm just so excited...."

"You sound like an interesting family, a nice one." He murmured, "I do like my guardian and I understand his job is important but I would hate to think that he might think of hurting someone that isn't dangerous and is intelligent... so I hope your father doesn't mind not meeting Shin." He said, looking down Caine and gave him a nod of his head, "For now I just want to keep the peace between our families so I can keep Rokiro as a friend... if that's alright?"

He hoped that he would be allowed to remain friends with the other blond but if Caine didn't want his son to associate with the son of a Monster Hunter he would understand. One wanted to keep their family safe after all. He took a step back, holding tightly on the straps of his bag to the point his knuckles were white as he awaited the judgment of those before him.
