Fristly: if i had a desert egal, i would have it in 357. mag and i can controll the recoil comeing out of a 357 quite well
secondly:yes, ikonw it weighs 3.5 to 5.75 pounds depending what all you have on it. this weight will also help with the recoil a little, not to mention that you can buy recoil reducers, smoother springs, ect. that will also help. and if you still dont like the desert egal, try the LAR Grizzly MK IV, mag roung weighs less and has better recoil controll

yes, but the magnum round could penetrat armor and it would be pretty much unstoppalbe at close range
Okay then.
Firstly, try controlling the recoil while firing continuous shots.
Secondly, Try to get an accurate shot off with the amount of weight you're carrying.

In close quarters, your enemy would be firing at you with most likely some sort of medium powered pistol that could easily crack off a few shots without the user feeling too much recoil. You would be sat there with a heavy, cumbersome high-powered pistol, which you're not going to get many shots off with if you value your wrists. Sure, you'll punch a hole through whatever cover they're behind, but they've probably gone and shot you before you've had the chance to do that.

Is all that power necessary, though?

Well, if I wasn't conscripted in to the British army, where I'd be given an L85. I'd probably end up with an Abakan, type 56 or AK-74 with a Makarov pistol.
definitely stay away from the L85

well... I guess it sort of depends though... enfield L85's suck monkey nuts, H&K's contract L85's rock. they basically went in and fixed everything for them.

I honestly think whoever is getting paid off for keeping the L85 in royal service is a complete dumbass. Honestly, I have heard horrific reports of it.

I heard talk that some sort of rifle accuracy test had to be REMADE for it.

Well, if that's true, it has atleast one good point.

However, I still think we need a new rifle. They have plenty of G36's. I don't see why we don't just use those, they're good guns. neutral

I would take an AK 47 as for side arm I guess my Beretta 92FS. I haven't shot that many handguns but my Beretta works for me.

Main gun - AR-10, 7.62x51. Probably something like a REPR or the like. Will have some sort or optics that doesn't use batteries and flip up sights. Suppressed just because. Chosen because it uses a pretty common cartridge that NATO forces use, and I can get decent range with it. Also is semi-auto, so I can have a chance if anyone comes close.

Pistol - Draco. Hey, it's technically a pistol, right?
