Zephar went back to rolling in his meal keeping one eye on Samantha. Playing and tearing at the tender flesh of the hind leg. The little red pup circled around it giving it a small growl as like he was stalking it, then suddenly he pounced and began to roll on it again. Covering what he could of himself with the flesh and blood of his meal. It seemed he rather play with his meal then eat it.

Samantha rolled her eyes, realizing she was being ignored again...or at least, was pretending to be ignored. Was she that obnoxious at that age? She couldn't have been.
Didn't think so anyway.
Oy, she was getting old.
Ahem.
She watched the pup's behavior with a quirked brow. Was he...practicing hunting, maybe? It sure looked like what he was doing, at least practicing stalking and pouncing...sorta'. She supposed that made some sense, however, did that mean he had someone teaching him already? There didn't seem to be anyone else in the area, but how else would he have started learning the basics at the very least? Even if he was lean, though, she could tell the pup wasn't as young as she'd first thought. He was growing and would need to learn to fend for himself before much longer.

After a while of circling the hind leg and snapping at it with his tiny teeth the little pup was becoming exhausted. A half yawn escaped him, it had been long and tiresome day. Besides his body was still sore from his 'fight' with Samantha. Pulling the remains of the leg into the safety of the bushes the pup curled up on top of it falling asleep on the rancid thing.
((Mind ending this one here and starting a new one where Zak takes over once he wakes?))

((That works for me, I'll just post a wrap-up here for Samantha. ^^ ))
---
Samantha shook her head sadly at the sight. Poor pup. Okay, yeah, he was a bit on the irritating side, but still...from what she could tell, the kid had a rough life.
Although she had no actual tie to the pup, she felt unwilling to just leave him where he slept. He could probably use a good rest and having prey left about was likely to attract trouble. Possible at least.
Perhaps the presence of an adult might give any potential trouble pause to re-think the risk of starting anything. Plus, she could use a rest herself. Yeah, that's it.
So, at a safe distance, where she could keep the bushes where the pup slept within her reach of protection if necessary, she laid down, idlly resuming her grooming, though she was already clean after finishing just minutes before.
