As asked in the subject title, why do some people believe that God is a woman? I'm not sure if you can really answer this unless you are one of the few people who believes it, but uh my curiosity and confusion will not cease. (is it just me or do I sound weird? neutral ) sweatdrop

Actually God does not have a sex. The reason why he is called Father, Him, and Lord is because it was as a sign of respect. You must understand that it wasn't until recently that women weren't veiwed as property. So calling God something like mother would have been seen as disrespetful.

God would never lie the word is would not, he willingly chooses not to lie. If he was female he would have said female if he was non he would say it or whatever, but the fact of the matter is he refers to himself as he therefore he is Father God.

The bible makes it clear that he is a man. (I am not being sexist) He walked on earth as a man, he calls himself a man, if he were a female god, 'she' would probably talk about how sexy 'she' is and not in a masculine way.

I don't think that's true... The Bible made it clear that Jesus was a man because he's human. He must be one or the other. But God, in Biblical terms, is not human or animal or plant, therefore He does not have a gender. But because it sounds disrespectful to address God as "It," and when the Bible was written, women were second-class citizens (if even that), they chose the male form. I think they did that just because it was the most respectful thing they could. If I remember right, the Hebrew word for God (or well, one of them), has no gender because they acknowledged that "He" wouldn't need to be assigned one.

Also, I highly doubt that if God decided to show up as a woman, she'd be talking about how sexy she was. It's still God, you know. I figure the female human form would still act just as holy...
