The bible makes it clear that he is a man. (I am not being sexist) He walked on earth as a man, he calls himself a man, if he were a female god, 'she' would probably talk about how sexy 'she' is and not in a masculine way.
I don't think that's true... The Bible made it clear that Jesus was a man because he's human. He must be one or the other. But God, in Biblical terms, is not human or animal or plant, therefore He does not have a gender. But because it sounds disrespectful to address God as "It," and when the Bible was written, women were second-class citizens (if even that), they chose the male form. I think they did that just because it was the most respectful thing they could. If I remember right, the Hebrew word for God (or well, one of them), has no gender because they acknowledged that "He" wouldn't need to be assigned one.
Also, I highly doubt that if God decided to show up as a woman, she'd be talking about how sexy she was. It's still God, you know. I figure the female human form would still act just as holy...
